I played this at a painting party and...

So when my elderly mother needed her house painted I called several friends and asked for help. I provided pizza and beer but the biggest hit were these short stories. I originally was playing music but I was talking about "Home Delivery" to one of my friends and she wanted to hear it. After getting permission from the rest of the paint crew, I played it. Next thing I knew, everyone wanted more and at the end of each story we took a break and discussed our thoughts on the previous entry By the end of the night several of my friends admitted they stayed much longer than they had planned because they were having such a good time.

Full disclosure though, Home Delivery is not on Volume III. That is irrelevant though since every volume has some excellent tales to pass the time. Also, you don't have to be a horror fan to enjoy these. These stories are all across the spectrum., Funny, tragic, heartbreaking, and terrifying, these stories could appeal to anyone.

As with any collection of short stories, some are better than others but I enjoyed them all and will be coming back from time to time to listen again.

The production value is through the roof with each story read by a different celebrity as well as King himself. These are well worth the credits.

Some King's best short stories

These stories are great when you dont want to spend hours listening to one of his epics, which are also enjoyable. You can listen for a short time and still get the whole story and you get more King variety

Typical excellent listen from Stephen King

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - Stephen King is always a pleasure to read/listen to, and it is good to have the readings broken up into short stories rather than one huge novel.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Probably Clark in 'Rock and Roll Heaven' - we can all emphasize with getting lost on back roads - especailly before the days of GPS.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

Very good - the narration made the stories come to life - even adding some sound effects, which was cool.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Pieces of Nightmares

Any additional comments?

As with most Steven King material, this did not disappoint.

hit or miss

Some good, some not so much. A couple I couldn't force myself to follow even with repeated rewinds. And can we all agree music should never ever be included in an audiobook?!

Stephen King is always a winner.

I read this and many other of his books in past years and listening to it read out loud was wonderful and the people who read the stories all did a great job.

Not as Good as Volume I/II

While I enjoyed listening to the stories encapsulated into this audio Rendition it it falls behind in story's with the only Highlight of the Story (Sorry, Right Number) using an ensemble cast, excellent readers still highly recommended.

Really good listen! Fully enjoyable!

This is the third and final volume of this collection of short stories.
Really Enjoyable and the performances were top notch.

"The night flier" seems to have been strung throughout a few of the tales which I liked a lot.

Great. But…

Stephen King’s talent is undeniable. Every story here is a gem in its own way. However, if I’m being picky, this volume was my least favorite. I don’t know if it was the order of the stories (seems out of order, a story comes after the notes), or the stories themselves, but I enjoyed the previous two volumes more (volume 2 is amazing). Having said this, it’s still worth the listen
