Loved it!

All three stories had a related theme. Aside from the usual vampire rituals these stories. contain, morality, concern for the greater good as it relates to community.

The narrator's voice is magical.

even if this book was the worst book ever, which it wasn't , I would have listened to it all the way to the end just to keep hearing to The narrator's Voice !
I love each one of these stories and the accent the narrator had for each character was spot-on. each story each story had made me wish that it was a little bit longer because it was so good.

Good yes - but just not great

An enjoyable selection of Vampire stories and, like a box of chocolates, you'll each have your favorite one and it may give you a short taste of other author's works.

I'm not going to review each one but, I did think 2 were good but the last one was just average however they each contained interesting plots, action, likeable characters, had no real surprises, there was passion, sex, romance and, of course, sexy Vampires.

Worth a credit? Unfortunately, it's sadly put me off short listens because you just don't get the depth and it lacked that 'feel good' factor - so I'd have to say NO but if it's on sale, or you like short stories, then go ahead.

Mary Jane Wells ROCKS the narration!

I bought this because of the narrator. She is a fantastic narrator and I love listening to anything from her.

Okay, the stories:

"Dark Hero" by Hannah Howell: I enjoyed this one a lot. It was different than I expected. I also find that Howell has written several books of the MacNachton clan and will now have to go listen to them. Though I hope THAT narrator is as good as Mary Jane Wells. So this one I'd give a 5/5

"Bride of the Beast" by Adrienne Basso: This one is predictable. And there was one point I ended up skipping ahead to the end because of the predictability. And one thing that was extremely bothersome to me is if Bethan spent 10 years dealing with her step-father, she would have been much less impulsive in her meeting with Hadyn. Her behavior would have made more sense at the beginning of her step-father's rule, not ten years in. He is MUCH too ruthless for her to get away with impulsivity. This one I'd rate at 3/5

"Kiss of the Vampire" by Eve Silver: This one might very well be my favorite. I've read other similar stories -- Connie Willis wrote one -- and I like what Silver did with this one. I also want more to the story! So now I will be looking to see if the author ever expanded this into a longer story or has a sequel. This is for sure a 5/5

***Edited to add*** Eve Silver DID expand this story. Its title is Dark Embrace and is narrated by Emma Fenney. I am going to check it out now!

All in all, I am intrigued.

All of them are pretty booorrring.

These three anthologies were pretty boring! So glad I am done and surprised myself by even finishing this book.

The 1st book-Dark Hero by Hannah Howell- it was the best of the three.
The 2nd book- Bride of the Beast by Adrienne Basso, it was second best of the three
The 3rd book- Kiss of the Vampire by Eve Silver, it was the worst of the three, and very difficult to finish.
All of them were about 110 pages each give or take.

They all had sex, and quite a bit of dialogue, but the stories were just boring. The story lines and plots were dull and not memorable. Not one of them did I wish was a regular long book that I think I would enjoy.

As for the narrator. She was barely okay. I have listened to her before and enjoyed her other narration much more than this one. I think it was the tone of voice she was reading in. It was sort of smug in a way. I don't know how to describe it really, but I can say that she did not help these boring stories and maybe made them even more boring.

I did get this audible on sale with whispersync so I am really glad I didn't use a credit.

Don't waste your time or money on this book. There are too many books out there that are enjoyable. This one was not.
