Take a trip to Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, where you'll meet the women of the Kauffman Amish Bakery in Lancaster County. As each woman's story unfolds, you will share in her heartaches, trials, joys, dreams... and secrets. You'll discover how the simplicity of the Amish lifestyle can clash with the 'English' way of life - and the decisions and consequences that follow. Most importantly, you will be encouraged by the hope and faith of these women, and the importance they place on their families.
Naomi's Gift re-introduces 24-year-old Naomi King, who has been burned twice by love and has all but given up on marriage and children. As Christmas approaches - a time of family, faith, and hope for many others - Naomi is more certain than ever her life will be spent as an old maid, helping with the family's quilting business and taking care of her eight siblings. Then she meets Caleb, a young widower with a 7-year-old daughter, and her world is once again turned upside-down. Naomi's story of romantic trial and error and youthful insecurities has universal appeal. Author Amy Clipston artfully paints a panorama of simple lives full of complex relationships, and she carefully explores cultural differences and human similarities, with inspirational results.
Naomi's Gift includes all the details of Amish life that Clipston's fans enjoy, while delivering the compelling stories and strong characters that continue to draw legions of new readers.

I wouldn't recommend this book to all friends, but I would definitely recommend to my Christian friends that like tender love stories.
I love the Amish theme and the cooking and caring of all...the warmth that emanates takes me back to a simpler time when people looked out for others rather than themselves.
The three words that come to mind are: warm, gentle, convincing. That aside, some good sound effects would have added to the overall experience, like background noise at social gatherings and the clip-clopping of horses hooves when riding in the buggies.
I would like to take Suzie so I could hear what's going on in her little head...although she's very outspoken and does reveal her thoughts regularly.
Like all Amish stories, Naomi' s Gift is warm and inviting and you feel part of the tight-knit community. I love spending Christmas with the Amish family found within the pages of this book.
This Amish book is well written and brings a true holiday feeling to the listener. The Narrator does a great job bringing the characters to life.
The story was a nice idea but it was written in a rather boring way. The narrator does well with female voices, but the male voices needed some work. In particular the lead male voice was difficult to listen to.
Out of 40+ books I've listened to, it's about 23rd.
The happy ending of course.
The story line is inspiring. The reader didn't have a very good german accent.
The little girl, she was very sweet and genuine.
we always wondered what happen to Naomi now we know a great on eyo listen to over & over again I love your books.... keep it up thanks
