The ties between women can run as deep as the ocean - but so can the secrets.
For 20 years, Kayla, Antoinette, and Val have performed their own special summer ritual. Once a year, the old friends put aside their daily, separate lives to drink champagne, swap stories, and swim naked under the Nantucket stars. But on one of those bonding nights, one of their trio swims out from the shore and doesn't return. After the surviving friends emerge from their grief, they realize that the repercussions of their loss go far beyond their little circle, and they begin to uncover layers of secrets - and their connections to each other - that were never revealed on the beach. What has made their friendship strong now has the power to destroy - their marriages, families, even themselves.

Definitely because I couldn't put it down and the second time around I find things I have missed or forgotten. It's actually a fascinating read of many twist and turns in relationships and friendships which totally held my interest.
I began reading Elin Hildebrand a few weeks ago now I find myself searching and reading all her books. Her descriptions in scenery want me to live on Nantucket Island.
Scenery wise I thing The Blue Bistro and the same for relationships though I found the Blue Bistro lighter reading.
I had no favorite characters; each had their own role and place.Christine Delaine is an amazing narrator! Each charge tour is distinct especially well done in Antoinette!
The ending..it was a great ending and still allows for a sequel.
I am enchanted with this author! Elin does a beautiful job of creating characters of reality and she has a way of making me fall into the book becoming a part of it. It's easy reading or listening and "most" of all she gets my attention in the 1st chapter that I find to be an excellent author!
The plot, the narrative, the character development.
I liked her interpretation of the characters. Brought substance and life to them.
Val. She seemed so easy to let go of her friendship and values! I would want to speak to a person as such face to face.
Really really enjoyed listening
It's hard for me to give this book a rating. I finished it, so at least it delivered on some level. However, Elin Hilderbrand seems to have a knack for creating characters that I do not like. I didn't like any of the 3 women main characters in this book, but I stuck with the book to see what happened, and because a friend of mine recommended the book. I started another book written by the same author, and about 1/3 of the way through, again, I decided I didn't like any of the characters, didn't care what happened to them, and didn't finish the book.
I don't think I will be spending any more money on Elin Hilderbrand books.
It was ridiculously dramatic. There was not one character in this book who had any redeeming qualities. I honestly was angry listening to this book because one character was worse than the next! This book's whole theme seems to be "with friends like that, who needs enemies!" I have only an hour left and I'm forcing myself to listen to the rest because I'm hoping that the end of the book will at least give me some closure to this horrible story!
Make at least one character likable!
The narrator was too slow and breathy. She took so many deep breaths during her narrations that I kept feeling like I was out of breath. She sounded like she had just run a race and was struggling to breathe. I also hate the voices she used for Antoinette and Val. Antoinette sounded like a man and Val's voice was like nails on a blackboard. Honestly will not listen to any other books narrated by this person.
Horrible story... horrible narration...the book literally made me angry!
