Probably his best.

Fantastic book. I come to Straub as a King fan and this book really lets you know why they able to collaborate so well.

Not sure what to make of this Straub story.

Ghost Story was one of my favorite audio books. I’ve been searching for something comparable since. This is not it.

Mystery eech!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A better paced story... this seems to crawl and ramble nowhere in particular.

What was most disappointing about Peter Straub’s story?

That Peter Strab wrote it. I always seem to have a problem with his writing. But a friend told me this was about a character who had dealings with H. P. Lovecraft like beings...and I LOVE H. P. Lovecraft. Thought I'd give Peter one more try. But, I'm still fighting my way through Peter's weird writing style to figure out just what the heck is gong on.

Would you be willing to try another one of Luke Daniels’s performances?

The reader was very good. Very dramatic.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I do so very much LOVE all the "Eldar Gods" mythos stuff. I dig all the under dog becomes the razor clawed leather winged destroyer of the human race.

Any additional comments?

Perhaps I will give it another try...

This is not a horror novel.

If you're looking for compelling horror fiction, this book is not for you. This is not a horror novel. This is an incredibly boring novel about a guy trying to discover his lineage. It's filled with characters that you never come to care about, whose presence in the story only kind of matters. Anything relating to the supernatural or horror is treated as an afterthought. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one.
