Fantastic book. I come to Straub as a King fan and this book really lets you know why they able to collaborate so well.

The book was absolutely amazing from start to finish! Peter Straub out did himself with this book.

I became lost half way through due to the large number of characters and soap opera level of complexity and plot twists

Not sure what to make of this Straub story.

Ghost Story was one of my favorite audio books. I’ve been searching for something comparable since. This is not it.

This is not a horror novel.

If you're looking for compelling horror fiction, this book is not for you. This is not a horror novel. This is an incredibly boring novel about a guy trying to discover his lineage. It's filled with characters that you never come to care about, whose presence in the story only kind of matters. Anything relating to the supernatural or horror is treated as an afterthought. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one.
