Publisher's summary

How far would you go to save someone you love?

Sam Dalton is at the end of his rope. His daughter, Jessica, lies dying in a hospital bed from a mysterious disease that has her doctors completely baffled. Without being able to identify the disease or its cause, they are unable to devise a cure and can offer Sam little hope. All he is left to do is sit there and watch his little girl wither away, day after day.

Despair has him wrapped tightly in its bony grip when an encounter with an empty-eyed vagrant he dubs the Preacher gives Sam the opportunity he has been searching for, a chance to bring his precious daughter back from the brink of death. He doesn't know who the Preacher is, or if the Preacher is even human, but Sam doesn't care. All he can see is the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.

If he's strong enough to do what needs to be done.

How far would you go to save someone you love? Sam Dalton is about to find out.

"[A] nasty little chiller that slices through the squeamish with surgical precision." (SFCrowsnest.net)

This was just plain creepy.

This was just plain creepy and so darn good. Veronica Giguere took Mr. Nassise’s words and gave them life. You could feel what Sam was feeling and then again as he follows through with the plan. The ending was awesome. If you want to read or listen to something that is a bit different, rather dark then gang pick this one up! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Another good story by Mr. Nassise.

What would you do to save your only child? Very interesting story. I thoroughly enjoyed the narration.

Good story, terrible narrator

Would you try another book from Joseph Nassise and/or Veronica Giguere?

I love Joseph Nassise, he has quickly become a favorite author. But Veronica Gigure's reading of this book made it difficult to listen to. She over pronounced every word and made it sound as if she were reading rather than talking.

Hitchcock-style short story

Would you listen to More Than Life Itself again? Why?

Not sure. I don't generally do that, as I remember stories too well. If I wait long enough, yes.

Have you listened to any of Veronica Giguere’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard Veronica Giguere before but felt she did a very nice job of creating characters with changes in her voice as she read.

Any additional comments?

This kept me engaged and listening but suspected the ending before it was reached, just did not quite know how it would unfold.

Pretty good little story for a nice walk/run

Would you try another book from Joseph Nassise and/or Veronica Giguere?

Maybe.

Would you recommend More Than Life Itself to your friends? Why or why not?

It's good if you want something to entertain you on a short trip in the car.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

I think the narrator should have been a male.

Do you think More Than Life Itself needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

At first I wanted to say no but then it would be kinda cool to have a series of shorts that tied
