Publisher's summary

Eighteen months have passed since Jake and his daughter endured a harrowing ordeal in the Alabama woods. To save his child, Jake killed two men working with notorious drug runner Ethan “Moon Pie” Daniels. Jake’s grateful that they survived, but can’t shake the feeling that the horror isn’t over and that retribution is coming. His actions cost Moon Pie his best friends and nearly two years of business. Now, on a cold, moonless night deep in the heart of a Mississippi swamp, Moon Pie will pit his thirst for vengeance against the strength of Jake’s love for his family.

Outstanding suspense thriller

Moon Underfoot is Book 2 in the Jake Crosby Thriller series. I have previously reviewed Books 1 and 3 in the series. The books are set in northwestern Mississippi. It''s a good story with periods of intense suspense and a feel good ending.

This is one of more than 90 Kindle books with free Audible narration I have borrowed as a Kindle Unlimited subscriber during the last four months. The average cost of borrowing the books including Audible narration has been 40 cents each! The books are automatically removed from my Audible library when I return them.

Excellent Sequel

This story picked up 18 months after the Dummy Line, built on the characters, introduced some great new ones, and was thoroughly enjoyable.

Mississippi Mad Man Meets His Match

When the book first started off, I wasn't sure I was going to like it as much as the first one, but oh, as it went on, I did, I SURE did! Some of the tale is a little far fetched, but hey, who's to say it couldn't happen in the south . . . As for old Moon Pie, there's plenty of redneck, criminals running around down here, all hyped up on drugs, alcohol and their own puffed up image of themselves. And thank God, there are plenty of the good guys, too . . . the good old Bible belt . . . this is a thriller, but also a really GOOD listen with an ending worth the wait . . . and this southern, country gal LOVES an ending she can sink her teeth into.

Love, Love, Loved It!

I really enjoyed the first book (The Dummy Line) so I had to give this one a listen too. Wow! All the individual threads weaving slowly together until they all come together in a roller coaster ride of a finish. In my estimation - a great book is a book that makes me talk to it out loud - this one did. LOL! It also kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what twist would be next. Loved it!

Tight, faced paced, thriller!

What made the experience of listening to Moon Underfoot the most enjoyable?

The narrator.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The book lost steam in latter chapters.

Have you listened to any of Jeremy Arthur’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

If you could take any character from Moon Underfoot out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Female lead.

Any additional comments?

Liked the book, faced paced with tension around every corner, thought the story lost credibility in closing chapters otherwise would be an overall 5-Star!

Wow! Great story!

I recently discovered author Bobby Cole when I read the first Jake Crosby book, The Dummy Line. Moon Underfoot is the second one. Bobby Cole is a very talented writer, both books had me spellbound and wanting more. I highly recommend this book. Now, onto the third book, Old Money.

Keeps getting better

Wow, what a fun ride! It is clear that Mr. Cole is very familiar with the setting that he uses in his series. I recognize many of the landmarks and traditions. More important, I can easily identify personalities in my own small Southern town that could be characters in the book. This book haū8d several different story lines going at the same time, but the author tied them together nicely. If you have a problem with three or four subplots, then you might want to try the preteen books John Grisham and James Patterson are writing; otherwise enjoy the |6additional local color and laughs they provide. This book's primary plot does not involve Jake from the first book, but as with all the subplots, his story continues and his wife gains more depth and personality. I didn't much care for her in the first book, but she evolves into a more likeable person in this book. A minor note regarding the narrator. He actually does a very good job with a Southern accent, but needs to find out the correct "local" pronoucation . Different areas of the country have their own unique verbage. I cringed every time he said Biloxi and@
Amory. It wasn't as bad as some narrators, but it was jarring enough to distract from the story. Otherwise, block out some time and enjoy a good storyteller. I'm on to book three in the series.

Another good one!

Second book delivers!! I do have to admit there are a story line that was a little hard to believe, but just as in life, stranger things have happened. Moon Pie is as bad as they come, truly evil, but Jeremy Arthur makes him sound very sexy, all the while I am hoping he gets his due.

This series is like no other! Original and carefully thought out characters; I was actually upset when the book ended because it was that GOOD!

What other book might you compare Moon Underfoot to and why?

I own almost 300 audio bookes and this book compares to no other. Oh YEAH, it's that good!
