Retired CFO, Army wife, Mom of five, Grandma of six, two sons who served in combat, love to read books that reflect my values and faith, love mysteries, historical, military stories, and books that don't waste my time . . . if it doesn't have an ending that was worth the wait, I'm not a happy camper.

"Mississippi Mad Man Meets His Match"

When the book first started off, I wasn't sure I was going to like it as much as the first one, but oh, as it went on, I did, I SURE did! Some of the tale is a little far fetched, but hey, who's to say it couldn't happen in the south . . . As for old Moon Pie, there's plenty of redneck, criminals running around down here, all hyped up on drugs, alcohol and their own puffed up image of themselves. And thank God, there are plenty of the good guys, too . . . the good old Bible belt . . . this is a thriller, but also a really GOOD listen with an ending worth the wait . . . and this southern, country gal LOVES an ending she can sink her teeth into.

I'm a narrator for Audible and a lover of recorded fiction in the mystery/thriller genre. A great book needs a great narrator.

    "Tight, faced paced, thriller!"
What made the experience of listening to Moon Underfoot the most enjoyable?

    The narrator.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The book lost steam in latter chapters.

Have you listened to any of Jeremy Arthur’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

If you could take any character from Moon Underfoot out to dinner, who would it be and why?

    Female lead.

    Any additional comments?

Liked the book, faced paced with tension around every corner, thought the story lost credibility in closing chapters otherwise would be an overall 5-Star!

    "Love, Love, Loved It!"

I really enjoyed the first book (The Dummy Line) so I had to give this one a listen too. Wow! All the individual threads weaving slowly together until they all come together in a roller coaster ride of a finish. In my estimation - a great book is a book that makes me talk to it out loud - this one did. LOL! It also kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what twist would be next. Loved it!

    "Too Many Storylines"

I really enjoyed The Dummy Line. I couldn't put it down, so I bought the sequel. While this second book is okay, I find myself getting irritated by all the varying storylines. Not enough of Jake in this story. Too much of the retirement home crew. Which meant adding the lawyer. Then there are the Mexicans and Vietnamese.... jeez. Didn't mind the deeper development of Moonpie but it was hard to concentrate on all the characters. Don't get me started on Bailey and Woody and Levi triangle....boring. Jeremy Arthur is a great narrator but even he couldn't make all these storylines work.

    "Another good one!"

Second book delivers!! I do have to admit there are a story line that was a little hard to believe, but just as in life, stranger things have happened. Moon Pie is as bad as they come, truly evil, but Jeremy Arthur makes him sound very sexy, all the while I am hoping he gets his due.
