What the Critics Say

"[Moll Flanders'] story is written with breathless directness by Defoe and is read in an equally straightforward fashion by Janet Suzman. The literary conventions of the period required characters to explain their emotions in detail, and Suzman enters into the spirit of these extended explanations, adding depth to Defoe's clunky prose with her vivid tone and pacing." I love to travel and train dogs. I can't seem to find the time to sit down and read so I listen while I'm on my way to...well...anywhere!

"Now I know who Moll Flanders was!"
If you could sum up Moll Flanders in three words, what would they be?

    what a life

Have you listened to any of Janet Suzman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

1st time to listen to Janet Suzman.

    Any additional comments?

I liked the end when she was remorseful of her life-style and then the Goodness of God over took her.

The narrator's wonderful pacing and inflections gave atmosphere. The title character comes across as genuine and likeable. The narrator really made the title character come alive.
