Misplaced Princess | [Mari Carr, Lexxie Couper]

Misplaced Princess

Annie Prince has impetuously flown halfway 'round the world to visit a sexy cowboy she met online - only to find herself stranded in Sydney. Seems she and Dylan crossed wires, and he's on his way to New York. His twin, Hunter, saves the day and whisks her back to the family cattle station. Hunter's as easy on the eyes as Dylan, and even easier to talk to. Annie might have flown to Oz to meet one brother, but soon sparks are flying with the other. Hunter considered Dylan a dumb arse for jetting off to America for some stranger - until he met Annie.

Audible Editor Reviews

India Plum gives an amusing performance of Misplaced Princess, the first book in the Foreign Affairs series by Mari Carr and Lexxie Couper. Her ability to switch seamlessly between American and Australian accents is a marvel, making the characters come alive. The vibrant Annie Prince flies to Sydney to meet Dylan, a sexy online stranger. Unfortunately, he’s set off to New York in search of her. Lucky for Annie, his bad boy twin brother, Hunter, is there to save the day with his seductive kisses and caresses. Which hottie sibling will she choose?

Hunter considered Dylan a dumb arse for jetting off to America for some stranger - until he met Annie. Turns out the New Yorker is a smart, funny, hard-working jillaroo… and hotter than the Aussie desert. Hunter's not normally one to poach his brother's women, but he can't keep his hands, lips, tongue and other body parts off this sexy city girl. When raging lust leads to emotional attachment, where does that leave Annie and Hunter when her vacation comes to an end - or when Dylan finds out?

    "Eh!"

I just didn't like it... It had everything I require in a romance..but just eh! I was bored... so.. maybe a credit on a rainy day...

I didn't care for the narration all that much either... It was just like reading, not really narrating...

    My Review:
    Overall... 4.50 star

I love the whole premise of this series. Annie and Dylan hooked up online. She's from NYC and he's from Australia. They've been chatting online for several months and one night Dylan finally breaks down and suggests a meeting. The problem...they get their wires crossed. Annie thought he was suggesting she come to Australia when in actuality, he was planning to visit NYC. They cross mid-air which leaves Annie in Australia with Dylan's identical twin brother, Hunter, to take care of her. She can't just go home since she convinced her boss to let her take the time off so she could write a newspaper series about life on an Outback ranch...or station, as they call them. She's stuck, but quickly discovers that's not necessarily a bad thing as she and Hunter have serious chemistry.

The issue for both her and Hunter...she was supposed to be coming there to meet up with his brother and although they never spoke about a romantic relationship, there were certain expectations there.

This was a fun book and absolutely perfect on audio...it only runs around 4-5 hours so it was perfect for me to listen to in a day as I did a huge clean-out of my office. I'm pretty sure the narrator is Australian although she does a really good American accent too, but honestly, I could listen to that Aussie accent all day. The book was way smexy, but it was fun too. It was great to learn more about Aussie life and life at the station. I live in West Texas ranch country so it was fun to hear the differences. Overall, I loved the entire experience and immediately upon finishing it, I got on audible and bought MISPLACED COWBOY so I could find out what exactly happened to Dylan in America.

Great book and if you like an Aussie accent (and honestly, who doesn't) you really should try it on audio!

UPDATE: I did buy MISPLACED COWBOY and returned it so I'm not able to do a review for it. While this book is GREAT, MC is missing the final chapter of the book. DO NOT buy that one from Audible.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    Excellent performance, entertaining story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Misplaced Princess?

    Hunter thinks she has a bad dream . . . . .

Have you listened to any of India Plum’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

It was my first but I love her so much, I bought everything else she's done.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh, smile, not want to get out of the car after an hour's commute.

    Any additional comments?

    If only these were longer!!!
