Publisher's summary

"Coming home from work to find my boyfriend banging our hairy, married landlord - in our bed - was bad enough. Discovering Jamie had also cleaned out my bank accounts made it officially the worst day of my life. I think I can be forgiven for wanting revenge, even if a few little laws (and possibly Jamie's nose) got bent in the process.

"Fortunately, the law is on my side in the form of my oldest friend, Tony Gervase. I've tried to deny my attraction to the sexy trooper for years. After all, he made it clear long ago that he wasn't interested in me that way. But if the hot encounter in his kitchen is any indication, he is now. At least the day is ending a whole lot better than it began....

"But the morning after, the Jamie situation goes from bad to seriously messed up. The jerk's in more trouble than I could have imagined. And as it turns out, I don't know Tony as well as I thought I did, either."

Funny but I didn't like one of the voices

**3.5 stars**

I think I would have liked this better on my Kindle and rated it a solid 4 stars instead of 3.5 stars. This was my first audiobook and I'm not completely sold on it. Most of my friends loved this narration. I think the narrator did a great job except for the voice of Tony, which kiiiillllleeeeddd me. He sounded like a constipated Tony Soprano, and I couldn't feel much for him as a character because I hated the voice so much.

This book had many things that I like. It was funny, it was paced well, and it had a lot of action. It confirmed that L.B. Gregg is an author to watch for me. However, I didn't like how the romance part of the book went down. I didn't really get why either of them didn't make a move until now, and I certainly didn't feel the love from them. I wanted more development of their romantic relationship. Also, Mark, who I thought was really funny and endearing, bordered on too-stupid-to-live some of the time. I honestly thought he was going to get his butt killed for most of the story. Silly man.

Funny, could have been longer

Love the start of the story - laughed out loud - and loved the Way u Can almost feel marks rage and his desciptions of his cheating boyfriends lover. U just know that he is not seing things clearly because he is almost irrational with anger. Liked the love story too - the story could have been expanded and that is my only complain - things are happening Way to fast with almost no Build up.

Very fun book. I had a great time

I had a great time listening to the audiobook. It was the first time I listen to the narrator and it was really a good first experience. I have read books from the author and it was as good as the ones I read and liked.

I had a lot of issues about Mark, but I love a character who isn’t a perfect prince charming. He’s not exactly the kind of imperfect that I like since he had some really disturbing conduct but I guess that was the idea and also it was part of the fun.

The book had a little bit of everything, some fun moments, some action, serious moments and also a little romance. I did find it a little lacking in the romance area, not that was absent or that Mark and Tony didn’t make a good couple, but I felt there was little emotion.

The narration was very good. I enjoyed both, the story and the way the book was narrated. Overall I had a really fun time with it.

Men of Smithville: Mark and Tony

Good read for a short book about a unfaithful partner who was a cheater and his unsuspecting other half. salvation comes in the form of lifetime friend and his long time love.

Not great, but good

The story was good and the narration was better. I feel it would have been better with more character development. But otherwise it was an ok book.

Funny! Gobsmacked!!

This is a great m/m romance... the whole gobsmacked with the bible was too funny!! I really enjoyed the story and the relationship between Mark and Tony... well worth a buy or credit...

Narration was pretty good... I am fan of Gunn after listening to Try and Tempt by Ella Frank... this is his older work b/c Gunn has gotten way better.. so kudos to Gunn!

Good story, great narration

I enjoyed the story very much but thought Tony was a bit of an ass. He should have been groveling after the revelation that he knew Jamie was cheating and never told Mark. Idk how you go 10yrs without telling someone you have feelings for them. I dont get it, but I still read the stories lol.

Nice short story

While the narration (for Tony at least) was not my favorite, this was a nice short listen. Amusing, tad bit of dirty sex, deceiving a-hole ex, etc. The cheating part did bother me (not the start of the book, but with Tony). Not a bad listen though. I will probably listen to more in this series, but more casually...like I am not in a big rush with anticipation or anything.

Love the humor!

Where does Men of Smithfield: Mark and Tony rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I consider it a repeat. One I can listen to over and over.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Men of Smithfield: Mark and Tony?

The church scene for one, but also towards the end when Mark was following his ex.

What does Shannon Gunn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Love narrators that can bring the characters to life. Very well done, Mr. Gunn

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Since I listen to audio while commuting, no. This one took a couple of days.

Any additional comments?

This one is my favorite of the series. Had some serious LOL moments.

Not Bad

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I would say that yes, the majority of the time I spent listening to this book was worth it. Why? Because it had a good blend of a strong male who wasn't DOMineering.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

That Mark saved his sorry ex. The least interesting were some of the accents.

How could the performance have been better?

I enjoy accents, just not this one...it was like I enjoyed some of the accent but then there were times when I was just like 'uh no'.

Did Men of Smithfield: Mark and Tony inspire you to do anything?

Reminded me that I need to make sure I KNOW who I am dealing with.
