It is a unique and triumphant work of fiction - at once romantic, erotic, suspenseful - and completely unforgettable.

"Astonishing...Breathtaking...You are seduced completely." (Washington Post Book World)
"...a bravura performance, a first novel that provides a vivid view into a largely lost and secret world." (The Los Angeles Times Sunday Book Review)
I loved listening to Memoirs of a Geisha. It was just one of those books that you would find yourself thinking about in the middle of doing something else....like in the middle of work. I couldn't wait to get done work at night so I could get in the car and listen some more. I felt as thought I knew Sayuri and was sad to see her go when I got to the end of the book. This book is a definite recommend.
This is a fantastic book. Yes, there is a bit of
a language barrier for the narrator (in various pronunciations) but I do not think it took away from the wonderful story in any way. The narrator's voice is so smooth and flowing that you cannot help but sink into this audible totally. I, like others, found that I just wanted to keep riding around instead of going home so I could keep listening. (Not a good thing to get in the habit of with gas prices so high.)
This story is so gut wrenchingly emotional! You will fall in love with the characters! The book is sooooo much better than the movie!
I will listen to this one again!
I loved the story. It followed the young girls life so well that it made me feel like I was growing up with her. Her decisions at the end made me scream but the ending left me feeling like it was all worth it. Loved it.
I have listened to many enjoyable audio books, but this is by far the best. I finished the entire 15 hours in 2 days, and I shall listen again, and again. Don't think, just add to your library.
