Publisher's summary

Economies have fallen, freedom has been suppressed, and peace is a distant memory. The world is falling apart. Joshua Jordan's protege Ethan March, along with Jimmy Louder and Rivka Reuban, have been left behind in a world that is rapidly coming under the complete influence of the Antichrist. Technology is growing by leaps and bounds, with BID-Tag implants, robotic police units, and drone-bots flying overhead...all designed to control and dominate those who resist the Antichrist's reign of evil.

As Biblical prophecy is fulfilled each new day, Ethan and the others in the Remnant struggle to eat, to procure necessary goods, and to avoid the Global Alliance - in short, to survive. But when the forces of evil attempt to pervert the world's most powerful information system to their own sinister ends, eliminating everyone who gets in their way, it's up to Ethan and the Remnant to subvert their dark ambitions.

From New York Times best-selling author Tim LaHaye, creator and co-author of the world-renowned Left Behind books, and Craig Parshall, Mark of Evil is the final thrilling chapter in The End series. With high-tech thrills against a background of prophetic events that seem to leap from today's news, this is the story of global tribulations bringing the world one step closer to the reign of the Antichrist and the return of Jesus Christ in glory.

Good story, terrible narrator

This is the fourth in this series. The first three books had a great narrator, this narrator is so disappointing. The only reason I'm continuing the book is because I want to know what happens. I'm having a hard time making it through with the over dramatics of the narrator.

Good book

This book was good. I just didn't like the narrator's voice as much as the narrator of the previous books in this series.

Narrator was Delightful!

My hearing is bad, so it was difficult to hear when he lowered his voice, so I increased the volume to get the full impact of this narrator's character presentations. Superb! I am so glad I didnt let negative comments stop me from listening to this terrific performance. Excellent job Daniel Butler!
Hebrews 11:1 was quoted backwards by Ethan March

Good but not his best novel

Liked it. Good but not his best novel. Evil one wasn’t realistic enough. Needs a follow up.

Change of reader from books 1-3 to last in series

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the story, setting the end of the series. Characters carried over from the previous 3 books, continue their development and entanglement with others.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mark of Evil?

His stories are fictional, yet based on Biblical teachings. His character development is very good, and you look forward to what will happen to the characters in the next book. The way he portrayed the bots who would identify people who had not taken the mark and oops, can't be a story spoiler here, and tell what happens with and without secret words.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The reader Mr. Butler just wasn't Stefan Rudnicki who performed the first 3 books in this series. When you already have a voice for a character, changing it makes the book difficult to listen to, and at times, his voices were boring. Saw the previous reviews, and thought can it be that bad? Yes.

Could you see Mark of Evil being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I could see the series becoming a TV series, yet wonder, since set about the end of the world as we know it, and prophecy from the books of the Bible, would people watch or even have it made?

Disappointing

This book in the series was my least favorite and very disappointing. The narrator was awful and so hard to listen to. His accents that he portrayed for the various characters were almost laughable. The story lacked the gusto of the previous books.

Narrator ruins the story

If I hadn’t already listened to and liked the first two books in this series I wouldn’t have made it through this one. Lip smacking and other weird noises, odd pauses and annunciation and emphasis were distracting and annoying. Didn’t even keep pronunciation of names consistent with the first two books.

Disappointed in the narration!

Struggled to finish. It was hard to hear and understand what he was saying. Most of the time it seemed like he was mumbling.

Enjoyed the series

I preferred the reader for the other three books.
Was expecting a different storyline regarding the time period.
I wish there was a 4th book.
