This is such a sweet series!!!

Any additional comments?

Evie's story is full of fears and triumphs. Both Evie and Chance have so many insecurities caused by their upbringing and pasts. Their journey to marriage will break your heart and mend it back together. If you enjoy sweet romance, historic romance or just want something a little different then this series is sure to win you over.

A delightfully witty western romance!

In this book by Caroline Fyffe, we get to know Evie Davenport. Evie has worked as a maid for the Mail Order Brides ever since her mother died. One day Evie steals a letter and answers it as a prospective bride. Evie sets up a contract with Chance Holcumb in Why Not, Montana and sets out to become his bride.
I smiled through out this most of this book. It was hilarious when Evie freaked over a Spider. I laugh because I always scream too! This book was so good, I started it this afternoon and listened to the entire book! In this book we learn such things as making a Chocolate Mashed Potato Cake. That was a new one for me. Evie can clean a house like no one else, but she can't cook. I just loved to see the relationship between Evie & Chance blossom. At one point, I even wanted to kick Chance & tell him to straighten up or else! I found this story to be a witty, charming, sweet ,western romance! To sum it up, this book is FUN! Even the Epilogues in these books are fun!
I loved the multiple voices i n this story. The voices of Chance & Evie were especially spot on. They sounded very authentic to me. The narrator, Lara Asmundson did a great job reading this book once again! The story itself was quite captivating. Caroline Fyffe had me sitting at my desk the whole night. Silly as it is, I couldn't turn it off as I was afraid I would miss something! Thank you ladies!

A Story as Smooth as Silk

Where does Mail-Order Brides of the West: Evie: McCutcheon Family Series, Book 3 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved this story. I was introduced to Evie and Chance in Mail Order Brides of the West Trudy and Lina (that's what happens when you read books out of order) and I was so excited to read her story! This book did not disappoint. It was just so smooth and the story progressed so naturally! It blended so well with the other story lines as well as gave Evie and Chance a clear voice and romance of their own. Evie is a wonderful character that is truly endearing and strong and I really enjoyed how complex and well-rounded Chance is. I would definitely rate this at the top end of my listened books.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mail-Order Brides of the West: Evie: McCutcheon Family Series, Book 3?

Spoilers! The most memorable moment for me in the book is when Evie stops the wedding ceremony and Chance's reaction to it and his followup questions. You really see his humour and his kind heart.

What does Lara Asmundson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I found her voices of Evie and Chance spot on! She makes the story become real and helped me feel the characters emotions. In addition, I just love the little exchange between Evie and Chance at the end of the book. Her narration was smooth as silk.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have to say I had more than one "O no you didn't" moments in my head! I found the story funny, with very poignant moments.

Any additional comments?

I very much like how we learn about all the different mail order brides at the agency. I do hope Bertha's story will be shared. I also think Prudence would be a great book, I would love to see who can warm her bitter heart!

Butterflies are Meant to Fly

What if you've always lived in the same city, the same house, and your future looked like more of the same? That's the plight of our heroine, Evie. It's actually not a bad life in St. Louis, but Evie wants more than to remain a maid for the rest of her life. But how does she leave the woman who's kept her sheltered, fed and protected in this mansion of a cocoon. Author Caroline Fyffe weaves a wonderful story of the search for a new life in a new place. Out West. Where farmers and ranchers lead full lives except for one big thing…. love. Way more men than women. To help even out those odds is the Mail-Order Brides of the West Agency. But Evie isn't on the list. Well, not officially anyway.

Follow Evie as she executes her plan for a new life. When you're through, there's more stories of the Y Knot, Montana characters in Caroline Fyffe's McCutcheon Family Series. If you become curious about Evie's best friend, Trudy, her story is in the first of the Mail-Order Brides series, written by Debra Holland. And if you begin to feel at home in Sweetwater Springs, there's the Montana Sky series, where women make their way out West not because they're looking for love, though its hard to escape what the heart really wants, especially when it comes unexpectedly.
