Best-selling authors William W. Johnstone and J. A. Johnstone capture the gritty side of the Old West with their Jensen novels. Luke Jensen, Bounty Hunter is the first in an exciting new series starring Smoke's long-lost brother. During the Civil War, Confederate soldier Luke Jensen is ordered to smuggle gold out of the city - but he ends up robbed and shot. Taken in by a Georgia farmer, Luke slowly recovers. Though he plans to rejoin Smoke, a budding romance with the farmer's daughter delays his departure - until a tragic event changes everything.

Another Great William W. Johnstone Book

If you could sum up Luke Jensen, Bounty Hunter in three words, what would they be?

Fast draw avenger

Who was your favorite character and why?

Luke, because of his protective nature towards those he cares about and his sense of honor to bring the raiders who harmed his family and killed his mom to justice.

Which character – as performed by Jack Garrett – was your favorite?

Luke Jensen

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The man too tough to die!

Any additional comments?

I really liked all he characters: the girl and her grandfather who pulled Luke from the torrent waters of the river, rising from the pouring rain, his friend who was unjustly jailed and scheduled to hang, his dad and his sister Janie, his brother Smoke and his wife, Preacher, etc. All expertly portrayed by Jack Garrett.

Luke Jensen, Bounty Hunter.

Where does Luke Jensen, Bounty Hunter rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is the first book of a series of I believe 4 books on Luke Jensen. I was reading Ralph Compton, Ralph Cotton, and W.R. Benton Western books. A friend of mine told me about W.W. and J.A. Johnstone Westerns and how much he enjoyed them, so I purchased this one and was not surprised.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Just about all characters were portrayed by Jack Garrett just fine.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was totally immerged in the story and hated to stop with out finishing each.

Any additional comments?

I will continue to read all the Jensen character series books. I am now on book 3. If you enjoy excellent westerns you can not past up this writers collection. Jack Garrett does a fine of narration. It is suitable for the younger generation that would like to understand how it was in the Old West.

Roy and Gene Are Not Dead!

I am a grown man but I love Westerns.

This is a fine example of the best of Westerns. Expect great Western entertainment. You will not be disappointed.

My kind of Western!

Authors and narrator get five stars on this book! Together they pulled me into the story and kept me there through the last sentence. The plot was realistic, and the characters were well developed. I'll read more books in this series.

Pretty good and not as predictable as Louis Lamour

Any additional comments?

An unlikely hero that doesn't always save the day, but comes out with his integrity intact. A little more violent than Lamour, but not over the top.

truly awful, but great at the same time.

I've read dozens of Johnstones' books and they are all truly awful. outlandish and ridiculous but highly entertaining and I can't stop listening to them.
they'll never compare to the westerns Mr L'Amour wrote, and for me that's the metric by which I judge all western fiction. like I said all of the ones I've listened to are really bad, but they're definitely page turners and if a story is entertaining. I guess that's really all that matters
