Publisher's Summary

Long ago, a witch proclaimed an eternal curse that every Corwin male who married for love would be destined to lose his woman and his fortune...

When Mike Corwin awakens after some wild partying in Vegas $100,000 richer and married to Amber, the gorgeous woman he met the night before, he thinks he's hit the jackpot. The bad news is that Amber's a con who takes his money and runs. Seems the family curse has finally hit him. Hard.

But to Amber, Mike isn't business as usual. If only she didn't need the money to ensure her father's safety, she might actually have fallen for the intense lawman. Instead, she's forced to betray him.

Now Mike's hell-bent on divorce and Amber's on the run...but when a twist of fate reunites them, can they turn their run of bad fortune into a lucky streak?

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.

    Story
    "Lucky Lucky!"

Simply marvelous! What happens in Vegas, follows all the way to Boston. Amber engages in a shady card deal with an old friend of her fathers to get money to keep her father in a nice home for his alzheimer condition. When she wants out of the relationship a chain of events occurs, and starts Amber on a mission to set everything right, especially with her new Vegas style husband, police detective Mike Corwin, who has his own special problems, one being the family curse. A good clean read, with some light weight sex scenes. A fun read.
Now for the narrator. Renee Raudman can not do men voices, all of her males sound old, like they are heavy smokers or have a frog in their throats. If you can get pass this then you will have an enjoyable listen.

    "Good book"

I really liked this book, especially the reading of it. It was almost theatrical enough that I could see this being a movie. If you like the Jane Green books or the shopholic series types, you will love this as it has a slight edgier tale to tell.

    "What?"

The premise for this book was very hard to believe. Admittedly, most of the romance books are fantasy but there was little in this story for this reader to relate to. Other than that small detail, it was ok.

    "Over Cooked"

The story is okay - not one of her best. The worst part is the narration, she takes the most normal sentence and tries to make it sound incredible. For example - in a voice the conveys breathless unbelief "he even had plastic plates and forks!!!" Big deal - they were on a picnic of course he had plates - yeesh!
