For Thea, a chance encounter on Primrose Hill ignites that elusive spark she's preoccupied with. Saul Mundy promises to be the perfect fit and Thea finds herself falling in love and loving it. But though newly wed Alice encourages Thea to settle down and conform, she finds that she's not as keen as she thought on playing by the rules.

Great story, kept my interest right to the end. It was true to life and well written.
Beautifully written love story. It was fun bouncing through the many ups and downs of their lives. I would agree with many things that Thea and Alice confide in, but I would have to cling to my theory that true love comes by finding someone exactly like you. I like what Tony Robbins says "Rapport is power" and "Rapport is created by a feeling of commonality. When you have something in common, that's when rapport is really ignited." "People like people who are like themselves." "People say that 'opposites attract', BULL!... you have to have similarities to be attracted." Colorcupid.com - "First Compatibility, Then Love"
Thea had a great depth of character.
What a great book. I found it to be a realistic portrayal of how modern relationships really play out. Some very romantic parts, some not so nice practicalities, laughs and tears. The beginning is a little slow, and Alice is a little annoying, but overall i think this is a really nice listen and i was sad that it was over.
I listen to a ton of audiobooks -- but this one will forever rate at the bottom of my list. Do not waste your time, money, credits, or braincells on this one. I was stuck on a 6 hour car trip that seemed like 18 hours while listening to this book. HORRIBLE.
Part of the reason I read romance is because I am a sucker for a happy ending. Had I known this book did not contain the typical "fairytale" ending, I probably would not have purchased it. However, in doing that I would have missed out on a truly outstanding story! It was so well written that you were engaged by and cared about practically every character, including the secondary ones. Even the character of Alice, who was shallow and spoiled, was somehow likable. This book is realistic, entertaining and enlightening. You won't be disappointed.
Touching love story, lively and likeable characters, fun to read.
The only thing I did not like is that Saul loses the love of his life because he goes to prostitutes, whereas Alice, who repeatedly cheats on her husband, gets away with it.
I tend to listen to audio books while driving as I have a long journey to work each day. After listening and reading all of Freya's previous work I was delighted with the new characters and the zesty erotic undertones of this book. A different approach to the more down to earth characters in 'Sally','Pip', 'Polly' etc. The plot zips along and makes you not want to turn it off. If you like Louise Bagshawe , Mike Gayle, Jenny Colgan and their writing style this is for you. Perfect listen for journeys and relaxing beach holidays .
"Went on for ever..."
Having read other books by the same author, I was looking forward to listening to this one, but was very disappointed, largely due to the very stilted and self-conscious narration, which made the already shallow characters seem incredibly stupid and entirely unbelievable. I persevered, thinking it would pick up, and because I never like giving up on a book, but sadly I found myself getting increasingly irritated and bored by the tediousness of the whole thing. This is the last one of Freya North's I'll be buying. For fun, easy listening chick-lit combined with depth of character and a well-defined storyline, I prefer Jane Green any day.
