Publisher's summary

Seven months ago, Len Parker lost his partner of more than 20 years, and he isn’t sure how to feel about his blossoming attraction to Chris, one of his farmhands. Hesitant and still hurt, Len remains aloof and distant until he’s goaded into teaching Chris to ride. Fresh out of a 30-year career with the Marines, Chris can explore his sexuality openly for the first time in his life, but what he needs more than anything is peace. He’s convinced Len doesn’t like him until he digs a little deeper, and then, armed with hope, Chris sets out to prove that love can provide the healing he and Len so desperately need.

Very short, but necessary to series continuity

What about Sean Crisden???s performance did you like?

I love this narrator. His voice is wonderful.

Any additional comments?

This entire series is a roller coaster of emotion that gets better with each new book.

Thanks

I absolutely loved this series. It was heartwarming and sad, the full roller coaster effect. I fell in love with the characters and the journeys they took together. The only thing that I didn't like was that it ended. I am definitely a fan. The narrators did a great job. These are fast paced stories so hold onto your saddlehorns.

Short but sweet.

I love this entire book series and this story is no different!
My Only complaint is that it is so short.
I would’ve Loved a much more developed and detailed story but all in all another wonderful wonderful story to add to the collection!

Out of order?

Love the story, but I'm not sure why this story was this late in the series. We already know Len and Chris are together well before we read this story.

I'm so glad to see Len happy.

New Love

The only problem I had with this story as it seems like it should have come sooner in the series because we are already aware of Len and Chris. But it was still a great story. I liked the fact that they had to work towards each other and Len needed to come to gripes with moving on. The fact that some tried and true methods for getting noticed were reported was also a lot of fun.

Not worth a credit, very short and simple

This was fine for what it is; a very short basic infill story. It is a sweet story about Len finding love again with Chris after his partner dies. I have now described 90% of the story. It is definitely not worth a credit, but if you are a fan of the series, it is probably worth a sale.

Probably a good story unless you got attached to#2

I inadvertently made the mistake of reading book #2 in this series before #1 so I didn't know Cliff was going to die (naturally I spent the better part of the first hour sobbing in #1 because of his death). I usually have One True Pairing in every story so when Len was to change partner I had to listen to this book, to see who was to take Cliffs place. On one hand I was disappointed; after the great romance of #2 this really can't compare. On the other hand since my True Pairing was Cliff and Len it was a relief that the marine didn't sweep Len away in a new epic romance.

I usually love Sean Crisden but after listening to everyone in Sawyer Allerde's voice Sean Crisden is just too different. The transition was better with R. Kirsten -> Sawyer, but I usually prefer that the same narrator is kept throughout a series.

I'm happy to know what happened regarding what book #1 alluded to for Len, but it really would have been better had it not had this new romance.
