In the quiet safety of the Bluebird Ranch, old promises resurface and unexpected love brings new hope. Though tragedy has wrecked her life, Allie Siders holds on to the hope that her five-year-old daughter, Betsy, will speak again. But with a stalker out for revenge, all Allie can think about now is their safety. She must sever all ties and abandon life as she knows it. She heads to the peaceful Bluebird Ranch, nestled deep in Texas hill country, and to the only person who can help them. The ranch is a sanctuary for abused horses, and also for troubled youths: the perfect place for Betsy to grow and recover. Ranch owner Elijah DeAngelo eagerly welcomes the duo. But Rick Bailey—the ranch foreman and DeAngelo’s right hand man—hasn’t decided to let his guard down... yet. Promises made long ago soon force Rick and Allie to work together to escape danger. Will they discover love along the way?

I liked the ending when Charlie revealed himself. The twist and turns that Allie went through as she traveled through the story. Murder, car accidents, kidnapping, and threats from grandparents who try to steal Allie's daughter from her all lead to a man who has been mislead by his brother and does all he can to destroy someone who had no idea of what was going on.
Rick is the answer to her prayers. This was a good romance with enough suspense to keep you listening until the end. The narrator made the story very interesting.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via audiobook boom.
Reading is my passion...but life as a working single mom, listening to books better fits my busy schedule! LOVE Audible!
Wonderful story, however, the music ending a chapter and between chapters was annoying and distracting. The second book of the series was even better, so I would urge someone to overlook the music! It's worth it! And the second book (which I just completed) does NOT have the music.
descriptive, love, faith
none that i can think of
When Betsy spoke made me cry
yes I did but read in 2
Me and my husband listened to this together and loved the story. It had just the right amount of suspense, action, mystery and love. We wouldn't change a thing about the story but could have done without the music before and at the end of every chapter, but even with that I would strongly recommend this to anyone who loves a good story with lots of twists.
We enjoy listen to books while traveling. Dee Henderson book have really captured our interest.
I liked the story like, but I didn't like the music between the chapters I found it very distracting
Not good with men's voices, kept hearing her swallow.
While this was a good mystery, the loud music between chapters drowned out the narrator and totally distracted from the story, and narrator was hard to listen to with men's voices. Not much Christian content, which was really disappointing.
I enjoyed the story, I enjoyed the narrator. The only thing I didn't like was the music at the end of the chapter and at the beginning of the chapter. I look forward to listening to more Colleen Coble books.
I liked the storyline, though some of the diologue was sappy, and I wanted the author to expound on parts of the story
This book is an enjoyable read, but I find it spoilt by unecessary guitar music between chapters
