Publisher's summary

"I feel like I've been wearing blinders for my entire life and now they've been ripped off and everything's too bright - too harsh. Part of me wants them back so I only have to see what's right in front of me." -Logan

After Logan Bradshaw's dreams go up in smoke, he's left broken and haunted by a cruel betrayal from his former business partner, a man he once thought of as a friend. His life as a professional escort helped pay for his future once, so maybe a few more jobs can give him back what he's lost. And if that means being a third for one night for a wealthy couple living out a ménage fantasy, then so be it. It might just be the final payout he needs to get his life back on track.

Dominic Barretti has everything money can buy, but it can't save his beautiful young wife as cancer steals her away from him. He also can't deny her one last request - a ménage encounter with another man. It's the perfect excuse to meet the man who's been haunting his dreams. On paper, Logan is the perfect choice to give his wife what she needs, but he doesn't expect his own fierce desires to flare up when the young man enters their lives.

Dom and Logan don't know it, but Sylvie Barretti has decided to play matchmaker from beyond the grave. Unfortunately, getting two broken men to find each other makes dying seem like the easy part.

Logan can't deny his attraction to Dom, but the surprise desire for another man has left him reeling and questioning everything he's ever known about himself. But when a threat from the past surfaces, will Logan be able to let go of the life he knew and embrace the one he needs?

Note: This book contains M/M sexual content and is intended for mature audiences

This is the third book in the series, but can be listened to as a stand-alone story - there are no cliffhangers. However, more enjoyment can be gained by listening to the series in order.

So good!

I’m just beginning Sloane Kennedy’s stand-alone books and with Michael Pauley as the narrator, I’m pretty excited to start! This book was so fantastic! It was sooo hot (hello first time gay), so sexy and it kept me hooked with the story throughout. I could really feel the emotional loss that Dom was experiencing, and at the same time his struggle with maintaining his developing feelings for Logan. Logan has his own set of emotional upheaval with his discovery of his emerging sexuality and how he felt his feelings for Dom was wrong. I’m totally hooked and I can’t wait for the next book of Sloane’s.

A Good Need

This was a really good read. Logan Bradshaw's dreams go up in smoke and he is left broken and haunted by a cruel betrayal from his former business partner, a man he once thought of as a friend. Dominic Barretti saved him he is going through something his wife Sylvie is dying and he agrees to a threesome with another man so she hires Logan. Neither man expected to feel sparks that they did. When Sylvie does of cancer she sends Logan a letter asking him to take care of Dom. When they find out that the man who shot Logan a raped his sister Savannah is alive Dom goes into protective mode. I really liked how Dom helped Eli the 15 year-old boy that they found working the street. Turns out his sister had been missing for a year and had a boyfriend by the name of Cy who turned out to be Sam the same man that shot Logan. I really liked this book. It was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more about the Barretti's

Logan's Need

If you are going to purchase one Audiobook this year.... Make it this one....
Or, well.... Any book written by Sloane Kennedy and narrated by Michael Pauley
(but really, get this book and you will not be disappointed with your purchase)
The book + The Narration = Perfection
5 Stars for the book and 5++ More for the Audio
While I really liked this book when I initially read it *I gave the book 5 stars* This book in Audio is just So. Much. Better. Logan and Dom have the most well written love story. We get drama and angst and action, love and heartbreak. This book is so Damn good, and the Author could not have picked a better narration to bring these Men's story to life. Michael Pauley's voice just gives So much more intensity and Steamy heat to this already Hot book, Really Outstanding Narration.
Logan is recovering from some major Past Drama involving his sister and his former Partner at his bar. He meets Dom and his wife, by chance, or so Logan thinks. But as we find out throughout this story, Dom and Logan meeting was really Fate and Silvie (Dom's wife) bringing them together, somehow knowing that they will need each other in the end. They just need to overcome everything that stands in their way, even each other... There is so much more to this book, But I really do think it needs to be Read or Listened to first hand without any outside influence like reviews to get the full effect.. And, Get The Audiobook!!!

narrator

the guy that narrates this book and several more great books I was looking to listen to. he ruins them all. H makes me want to not listen but I know the book is fantastic. I want to take a breathe after every word he says. several books I've bought before I knew he was the narrator I never listen to. Just my opinion.

Bad Romance but an Exciting End

I selected this story based on the plot description. The idea that a man’s dying wife would audition male escorts as a potential replacement for her sounded intriguing and very thoughtful on the wife’s part. The plot suggests that the wife was aware of her husband Dominic bisexual needs were being placed on hold out of his fidelity to her. An element of nobility is injected into the Logan character early on in that he is peddling his wares as a way of supporting his kid sister after their parent’s death. Alas the execution of this theme was badly handled. The escort, Logan, is introduced as heterosexual!?! He has a big scar down his chest from surgery to remove a bullet from an attempt to kill him. A scarred up body is not a big turn on for most women willing to pay for it. The back and forth mental struggle of am I or am I not gay / bisexual is confusing and ultimately boring in its unfolding as it is just too predictable. The only thing that saves this story from being labeled as romantic dreck is the subplot of a psychotic mass murder, torturer, and rapist that lurks in the background for three quarters of the story to emerge as an exciting finish at the last quarter of the book. This alone rescues the story from a one star rating.

The romantic leads Dom and Logan are so far-fetched as to be unrealistic and implausible. This makes their attraction preposterous and unbelievable. The twists and turns to get to a romantic oneness triggered so many, oh come on now, responses one just can’t believe it all. So as a romance this story fails.

However, the plot twist of Logan’s sister rapist being discovered to have survived a fire he had supposedly died in to rise as a mass murderer and continue to threaten the principals; now that was interesting and worth struggling through the implausible romance. That brings the ratting up from one star to three stars.

Worth the Wait

I read this book a year or two ago and loved it! Love Dom and Logan's journey to find the love they both need. Their chemistry is off the charts and Sloane is master at writing stories that make you FEEL every drop of emotion the characters experience. Michael Pauley is the best and brought the story to life. Highly recommend!

the beginning

I think you could say this story is the beginning of the awesome mm stories written by Sloan Kennedy. From here all the rest of the books can trace their path. Michael Pauley brings life to this book.
