    "Note to Self!!"

I have always loved Will Self s style and find it impossible to put down his books once I've started, so I couldn't wait for my monthly audiotreat. How disappointed was I! it's not that the story lines aren't brilliant, with fascinating characters, quirky twists and dark moral overtones. No it's because the book is narrated by Self himself! Some may think I'm strange as I do find his sultry (mono)tones very hypnotic, and if I dare say it, quite seductive....so what's the problem? Well it turns out his dulcet tones also have a soporific effect. I have been listening to this book every evening for two months now and I'm not even half way through, I've been stuck on chapter 10 for a fortnight! As soon as I press play, I'm transported not into the dark recesses of Wills mind, but off to sleep. Think I'll have to but the darn thing in paper form as I'm desperate to know what happens to Prometheus et al.
