Publisher's summary

Life's a bit of a beach these days for Ginger Walsh, who's single at 41 and living back home in the family FROG (Finished Room Over Garage). Geri, her BlackBerry-obsessed sister, is also nearly off the deep end, about her pending 50th birthday (and might just drag Ginger with her). Toss in a dumpster-picking father, a Kama Sutra T-shirt-wearing mother, a movie crew come to town with a very cute gaffer, an on-again, off-again glassblower boyfriend, plus a couple of Red Hat realtors, and hilarity ensues.

It's okay

I thought the narration was really good. The little boy voice was a little annoying, but hey, they normally are.

I didn't like Ginger and I am pretty sure if she was real, we would not be friends.

real life families

this book was easy to get lost in, it gives a window view into what can be assumed to be a real family. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it.

Predictable

Cute love story. kind of fun to listen to but predictable. The narrator made it entertaining. Character building was slow. Loved the "Boyfriend name"...

Good story

This was a good story with the potential to be an even better one. There were an insane amount of “I said” and “she said” back to back. It became distracting. The narrator sounded a lot like someone who was pretending to be sick when calling out of work. I found myself holding my breath when she was speaking, especially for the children’s voices. I’d almost prefer her just speak in her own voice. All in all, it was a good book.

Classic Claire Cook

Took a chapter to get into the story with all the family but it was an easy listen with a fun heroine finding her stride and confidence.

Life is a Beach!

I was looking for a fun, enjoyable, not as dramatic as some Nantucket/Vineyard stories. This book’s plot was in the right neighborhood, on Cape Cod. Loved the weaving of the characters lives within their family from Dad and Mom to Riley the 8 year old budding star. The study of wants and needs of each of the personalities to make
funny family relationships bloom. A happy good listen.

Funby but Disappointing

There was some really really funny parts BUT I hated the Main Character. By the end I really wanted bad things to happen to her.

The narrator was good otherwise it would have been 2 stars

This is a nice light listen for those who just want a fun vacation from reality.

Really funny and witty

There was something so real and down to earth about this book, yet had enough fictional drama to keep the imagination interested. The quirky characters and funny dialogue made me laugh out loud more than a couple times. Narrator was great too.

Really bad

Probably my least favorite listen of all time. Poor writing and narration. Very annoying. I may give this author another chance, but not for a while.
