"Not predictable, Nice surprises along the way!"

Engaging storyline, believable characters, and some really nice plot twists along the way. The arch of the story is strong with good pacing and juxtapositions in perspectives. Enjoyed this and will listen to more in the series!(

    "Very nice. 👏"

Not usually into murder mysteries, but this book was well written and beautifully narrated. Well worth a credit.

    "Bored"

Just not a smart writer. Little character development. What Elmore L can accomplish with one sentence is never achieved throughout the book's entirety.

    "Quirky detective story"

This reminded me of some of the Ed McBain 87th precinct books - perhaps because of the weather scenes. I didn't like the narrator at first then I grew into his performance. The lead detective was an interesting character. I quite liked the book, but if there was a series I probably wouldn't buy any more.

"A very different kind of police procedural"
Where does Lieberman's Day rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Very high.

What other book might you compare Lieberman's Day to and why?

Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series and Donna Leon's Commissario Brunetti series. Good authors and many in the series.

    "Too Jewish"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I think that anyone who grew up in a predominantly jewish environment might enjoy this. I grew up on the north side of Chicago so I thought I would enjoy this but I found there was very little substance to the story and too much "jewishness". I am from a jewish area of the city but never experienced this type of environment. The reader mispronounced the street names which also drove me crazy. I would not recommend this book as the story itself was very weak and did not keep me interested.

What was most disappointing about Stuart M. Kaminsky’s story?

Lack of substance. Too little time devoted to the mystery. Too much devoted to "fluff"
