Publisher's summary

The birth of Jesus has been well chronicled, as have his glorious teachings, acts, and divine sacrifice after his 30th birthday. But no one knows about the early life of the Son of God, the missing years - except Biff, the Messiah's best bud, who has been resurrected to tell the story in this divinely hilarious yet heartfelt work, "reminiscent of Vonnegut and Douglas Adams" ( Philadelphia Inquirer).

Verily, the story Biff has to tell is a miraculous one, filled with remarkable journeys, magic, healings, kung fu, corpse reanimations, demons, and hot babes. Even the considerable wiles and devotion of the Savior's pal may not be enough to divert Joshua from his tragic destiny. But there's no one who loves Josh more (except maybe "Maggie," Mary of Magdalan) and Biff isn't about to let his extraordinary pal suffer and ascend without a fight.

Critic reviews

"Moore...gets style points for his wild imagination as Biff recalls his journey with Jesus...into and out of the clutches of Balthasar, then into a Buddhist monastery in China and finally off to India, where they dabble in the spiritual and erotic aspects of Hinduism. The author gets more serious in his climax, offering a relatively straightforward, heartfelt account of the Passion and Christ's final days that includes an intriguing spin on how the Resurrection might have happened." (Publishers Weekly)
"An instant classic...terrific, funny, and poignant." (Rocky Mountain News)

Fantastic Adventure

Christopher Moore at his very best. I was bummed when it was over. Hoping for some kind of sequel!

This book is hilarious and poignant. I read it years ago and loved it but listening to this narrator added a new element of hilarity.

Clever and hilarious!

This was the second Chistopher Moore book that I listened to, the first being "A Dirty Job." Moore is a master of the satirical, poking fun at nearly everyone. "The Lamb" was definitely worthwhile. The narrator is great, adding just the right inflection to portray the author's obvious sense of sarcasm. This was a great listen and would highly recommend.

Great!

Pick a category then give it 10/10. This book, and more specifically its narration and voice characterization are 100% the reason I got hooked on Audible. Funny, irreverent, smart and poignant.

The life Of Joshua(Jesus)

I loved this book! The story of Jesus always gets me and as always I am sobbing as the tale of his crucifixion is told...nothing new to tell. The ending was expected but seemed rushed. I am always of the opinion...tell me more.

I have listened to this narrator read several other Chris Moore titles....he was enterainingly funny. He kept my attention the entire time. I look forward to more of his work.
I feel confident that you will enjoy him too.

Funny and entertaining

Christopher Moore is one of the greatest authors I've ever read. His books are wonderfully entertaining, and witty. One of the great humorists of our time.
