"The Left Behind series...is among the best-selling fiction of our times: right up there with Clancy and Stephen King." (Time)
"Christian thriller. Prophecy-based fiction. Juiced up morality tale. Call it what you like, the Left Behind series...now has a label its creators could never have predicted: blockbuster success." (Entertainment Weekly)
I love the Left Behind series. I have listened to the complete series many, many times. I also liked the following books, until this one. I have not listened to, nor read a more boring book in my life, I'm not exagerating, this was horrible! There is no real story, you don't really know these charecters and I pray to God that when we are living in the "new system of things" that it holds not even the slightest resemblence to the discription in this book. For the first time I thought... really?, This is not the paradise I dream of and I can't even imagine that we Christians would be so faithful and this is what God has in store for us.
I really hope that the unabridged version is available at some point. This abridged, highly condensed version of the story causes the reader to miss so much. It's like reading the first and last page of each chapter of a novel. I love the series but don't understand why the abridged version is even offered. It only serves to disappoint loyal readers (listeners) such as my self.
I have heard all the other book on audio and love all of them and this is a great ending. The info given paints a great picture of how the authors interperate the Bible. I was up lifted by the way they portrayed the information. The story moved quickly and kept me interested in what was hapening next. The reader of the story was clear and dynamic.
Dislike all the "voices." Would prefer to listen to someone read the book as printed without trying to change the voice for each character.
