extremely moving

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! I had read this book years ago, but it seemed new to me having it "read" to me. It keeps your attention from beginning to end and I did not want it to end.

What did you like best about this story?

It is amazing how the characters ended up connecting. I love how the main characters brought themselves up to such a level of success.

Have you listened to any of Jason Culp’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no I haven't listened to him before.

Who was the most memorable character of Kane and Abel and why?

William Kane because he was so ambitious and seemed to have a good heart (for the most part).

Any additional comments?

When it ended, I was sobbing....it was SO touching, yet tragic. My teenage son, thought I was CRAZY! but this book was so awesome I wanted more!

Very entertaining

I throughly enjoyed the complex story line of two families. Richly described and evenly paced. Made my daily commute something to look forward to.

I read constantly and for thirty years have considered this my favorite book of fiction. Nothing has changed now that my precious wife and I listened to every spoken word. Thanks to the author.

Brilliant as when I first read it 25 yrs ago

Gave me at 19 yrs old enlightenment ,strength, courage & passion 4 life. It inspired me to follow Boston, NYC in wall St. Now as Hotelier. Remind me now at 43 yrs old, what grudges and stubbornness does to someone. Today I question is I have the same strength to follow on my quest, I should! Thank you Mr. J.Archer

Hard to put down

Riveting tale of the lives of 2 men and how they intertwined, and the effects of stubbornness and pride.

The best book I've read in a long time!

Once in a while, you stumble upon one of those books that you just can't put down. You just want to read and read... And if you HAVE to put the book down, you're still thinking about it - about the characters, the plot, the time period. This is one of those books.

For the last week, my mind has been occupied with Abel Rosnovski and Richard Kane. It’s only January, but I am pretty sure that this will be one of my top 5 books this year.

The story of the poor Polish boy Wladek Koskiewicz (later Abel Rosnovski) is just marvellous. How Abel manages to make his way in the world – from being a newborn baby found in the forest with his dead mother to becoming a hotel magnate is just so exciting! So is the story about brilliant Richard Kane – a banker’s son who makes his own way in the world. And the rivalry between the two men born on the same day! I enjoyed every minute of this book!

Also, Jason Culp does a great job narrating the story.

I will now probably be reading all the other books from Jeffrey Archer. And I can’t wait!

Excellent. Period.

Yes, some argue about the feud being this or that. Ignore those whispers. Get this book. The author's weaving of the storyline is something that I wish to always read or hear, when choosing a book. I didnt want it to stop and will certainly begin this book again, real soon.
That's all I can say... other than, enjoy.
