I read this book about 30 years ago and loved it. I just finished the audiobook and loved it again. Kane and Abel is a wonderful story that stands the test of time. If you're looking to be entertained, this audiobook should do the trick.
yes, because it was very interesting
All of the charaters were good. I especially enjoyed Abel because of his accent.
never listened to Jason Culp's performance before. Now I know he is great!
I enjoyed it throughout.
I had heard about this book growing up and through the years. However, I had never thought to read it. I decided to download it and I'm glad I did. The narration was good and the book is both tragic and inspiring. Reading it will take you through the range of emotions, through the brutality and poverty of pre WW1 Europe to the luxuries of post world war 2 America through the eyes of a driven Polish immigrant and a driven Harvard educated American.
This audiobook by far was the longest book that I've ever listened to, but it was totally worth it. The narration by Mr Culp was excellent and it brought the book alive.
This would be one at the top of my list!
Can't think of just one as there were too many memorable moments!
Great performance. He made you feel like you were living the story.
Without a doubt!
I don't know where Jeffrey Archer comes up with these plots but he always has your undivided attention.
I really enjoyed this book. It did come off a bit to similar to one of his earlier books but was enough different that it was still very enjoyable. If this is your first Jeffrey Archer book, you will thoroughly enjoy it.
Abel's will to overcome even as a child.
Abel, he was a self made man. Born to poverty and he had the will to survive.
Say something about yourself!
I love Jeffery Archer. Great, interesting stories ala Trollope and Dickens. If you are a fan of either, try Archer. His Paths of Glory, a true story of Mallory, was also terrific. What a great way to pass the time! Excellent reader as well.
I loved this story of misunderstood rivalry. Two stubborn men and their very different unbringing but strangely similar endings. Compelling for me. Might be too tame for those who like lots of action and page-turning adventure. But if you like interesting characters and generational sagas, then Archer is a great way to spend your time.
