My name is Jamie Atwood, and I'm an addict. I never thought I'd say such a thing. Never had a problem being overly attached to anything in my life. I came from a perfectly middle-class family, made good grades, and had a hot cheerleader girlfriend...but the truth is, nothing ever really moved me.
So how did a guy like me become an addict? I met Michael Kage. Kage is an MMA fighter. A famous one. I like to think I helped him get that way. He's charming as hell, with looks to rival any movie star and talent to back it up. So why did he need to hire me as an intern publicist? Simple. He has a darkness in him - like a black hole so deep it could swallow him and me and everyone we know - and that's not good for business. The first time I met him, I felt the pull. I think the addiction began at that very moment. And even if I'd known then what I know now, I would have fallen for him. How could I not? For me, Kage is everything.

This series is freaking awesome. Absolutely engrossing. Just wow. There are no words.
I admit I did get frustrated with the main characters quite a few times for angst that is everywhere in these books. I tell you your heart will be shredded. But somehow just when I think, "There is no way they are going to do this because of a misunderstanding..." Bam something happens I totally did not see coming and I'm lost in this wonderful, horrible, lovely, gritty, cuddly, sad world. Jeez my heart is going to be stitched together with duck tape and floss. That is just how amazing this story is.
Not to mention the narrator. Ya, I could listen to his voice all day long just because it's that awesome. His voices for Cage and Jamie where so perfect it hurt. And when he brought the heat to a love scene it was panty melting.
****All that said I totally recommend this series. Hands down so worth every penny. HOWEVER you must have ALL three books before you start reading/ listening, because the cliff hangers at the end are absolute murder. Seriously. MURDER. You will die if you do not heed my warning! I know cliffies are hated by many but this series is worth it. You won't be disappointed if your a MxM romance fan.****
The author really knows how to write a story. It wasn't all about the sex; there was so much build up. I almost couldn't take the antici....pation, in a good way. The author and narrator really take you on the emotional journey, as corny as it sounds. It was a roller coaster of sexual tension, frustration, awkwardness, and humor. Can't wait to start the next one.
This story has me on a roller coaster!! I could literally feel the build up!! Kage is a mystery but you can see he wants love. Jamie is trying to figure himself out. I cant wait to see where this story goes.my nerves can't take it!!
This is really very much like the mm version of fifty shades, but i think i liked this version better. First, the author writes a lot better (which is not an impossible task at all). Second, it might just be the mm storyline but the characters seems more real. It is of cause a fairytale of a young naive (not-gay) man falling for the rich, troubled and lonely MMA fighter, who needs him to function. It is a comming out story for the college student and sort of a dom-sub story (without the whips) due to the personality of the MMA fighter, mostly. I liked that it is infact the MMA fighter who does not have a problem with being gay (he has too many other issues to deal with). It kind of creates an extra layer to an otherwise straigthforward story and makes it stand out a little. It is however not meant to stand alone so unless you commit to listening to all three of the books it wont make much sence. I liked the narration.
Most definitely. I love gay men who are somewhat dominate yet will do anything in the world for you. A gay man who is strong-willed and passionate yet will bend to your command because he loves you so much. That is Kage and Jamey, imperfectly perfect for each other.
One? I can't name one but I can give you six. 1. When Kage left the training camp like a bat out to hell to find and save Jamey from two guys who wanted to rape him. 2. When Kage and Jamey admitted their relationship to Jamey's friends. 3. The pantry scene in Jamey's parent's house. 4. When Kage finally remembers his childhood and his brother's death. 5. When Santori finally tells Kage the truth about his father and admit things about the past. 6. Santori and Jamey's final fight scene.
J.F. Harding has the perfect voice for this story. J.F.'s voice can have you nervous from fear or anticipation and readjusting yourself because of the passion. He can talk me out of my jockstrap any day. :-)
These 3 books was like a wild roller coaster ride - excited and a little scared all at the same time.
Yes. Give me more stories like this. More gay-themed books using athletes and of course have J.F. Harding read them.
What a ride! This was a fabulously written and narrated story. This is THE book ( & trilogy) that other books in the genre will be measured by. It is an intense, gritty, sexy, hot read, with plenty of substance that will keep you entangled for from beginning to end. There is a bit of a startling cliff hanger... but it just adds to the intensity of this book so be prepared.
I listened to these books twice in a week, I liked them that well. I needed to make sure that I didn't miss anything. I love how the author really nailed the complexity and intensity of their relationship. Not a fluffy predictable read.
He performed all of the voices very well, he didn't just read the words; He really brought everyone to life!
Raw desire unleashed
Author/narrator pairing is golden!
These two are probably my new favorite book couple. Not only do I adore Jamie and Kage together, but also their characters more individually. I bought the next book this morning before I was even finished with this one. The narrator does a fantastic job also.
This is a seriously slow burn book. Like really slow. J.F. Harding does a great narration, and his voice for Kage - hot damn. The writing is good, I think the slow burn was just to much. And the way it ended was just ugh! I get that there are more books in the series, but authors (or editors) needed to understand you can't just do an ending like that.
I love this book, so when the audio came out I was super excited!! Let me say it did not disappoint :) Love the author and was first with the narrator which did a really good job. I ❤️ this book!!!!
The narration was beyond excellent! Best I've heard yet. I enjoyed the story. I'd catagorize this as a gay for you story.
Loved all 3, was sad it came to an end. I don't want to give anything away. If you enjoy the gay for you theme, you'll enjoy this series. Jamie is not chased or coerced IMO, he falls on his own as he gets to know and spend time with Kage and Kage is patient for the most part (one scene is rough) but not being ready to come out to friends and family when you've always been straight is something to be dealt with.
This is the first, but I will look for other stories narrated by him. It's wonderful that he can give each character their own sound without sounding like he's just speaking in a deeper or higher voice! He even did a great job with the female characters.
I wanted to, but I tend to only listen to books while I'm driving (several hours a day). I'm a delayed gratification type of person, but as soon as I completed one book, I immediately moved on to the next.
I loved all 3 books!
"At last an amazing male fiction"
It's about time somebody wrote a male adult fiction which has a credible storyline with depth of characters who really have you liking, disliking, and feeling for throughout the whole book. Don't start listening to this book if you don't have a clear schedule otherwise you'll find yourself cancelling appointments just to finish the book! 100% admiration and respect for the author absolutely superb writing thank you!
Oh my goodness. I've been in a reading slump for a few weeks and this story just pulled me out of it.
"a scorching breeze"
loved liked and adored it breezed through it
j.f. Harding one of my favourite narrators
am new to this author but loving her so far
