In this collection of five short stories, Jonathan Maberry fills in the blanks in his action-thriller Joe Ledger novels.
In this prequel to Patient Zero, meet Joe Ledger, Baltimore PD, attached to a Homeland Security task force … who’s about to get a serious promotion.
"Zero Tolerance" picks up a few weeks after the close of Patient Zero. Dropping back into the world of former Baltimore cop Joe Ledger, the Department of Military Sciences, and flesh-eating zombies, fans of the series will finally get closure on a few loose ends.
Before former Baltimore cop Joe Ledger goes up against competing geneticists looking to continue the master-race program in The Dragon Factory, he must battle another foe using human test subjects for his sinister plans.
This short thriller takes Joe Ledger into the mysterious, troubled town of Pine Deep, Pennsylvania, the setting for Maberry’s chilling Pine Deep Trilogy. In Pine Deep, nothing is what it seems.
Joe Ledger returns in this tale that follows the tragic conclusion of The Dragon Factory. In the wake of a devastating personal loss, Joe Ledger and his new canine partner, Ghost, go hunting for the world’s deadliest assassin.

All of my reviews are on my blog audiobookreviewer dot com
I don't normally review anthologies of short stories. My rules are mine to break. Really the only reason that that I am is to satisfy my own curiosity, and to learn more about what drives Joe Ledger and makes him what he is today.
There really isn't a whole lot to review here. Joe ledger story short stories, full of everything you would expect from Jonathan Maberry. If you are a true and I mean true Joe Ledger fan you have already picked this title up or if you're like me you been humming and hawing and waiting for the right time. Well the time has come.
One story is a simple introduction to Joe Ledger, much of this we know already is we listened to Patient Zero, still good to hear. One story intertwines with Patient Zero and is yet separate. One story gives an introduction to my favorite literary canine, Ghost. Another twists together, what I though were parallel universes, the Pine Deep series with the DMS. And the last really gets you inside Ledger's head.

I will listen to NO boring book. Old Fav's,Card, King , Hobb. New Fav's, Hill, Scalzi, Sawyer, Interested in Lansdale, Crouch, Konrath
AND YOU DON'T WANT TO BE DEAD.
First, read the Publishers Summary for the list of stories. Many of these are sold separately and you may already own them. I had bought one, but still bought the collection anyways. It saves money to buy the collection, instead of one at a time. HE KNEW MY VIEW ON HESITATION, DON'T.
These stories range from good to excellent and are all about Joe Ledger. If you have not read Maberry this is a good place to start and if you have read him, you will love these even more.
The first story may be confusing, as it is more of an excerpt, then a story. Most of it is actually chapter three of Patient Zero and stops just before the best chapter in the book. One story even connects Ledger to the Pine Deep trilogy.
Ray Porter and Jonathan Maberry go together like John Scalzi and Wil Wheaton, a perfect match.
1*=I didn't like it..... 2*=It was OK...... 3*=It was good but I will never read it again.......... 4*=Maybe I will read it again in the future.............. 5*=I will definitely read it again(maybe more than once)
The stories were interesting and flavorful.
Narration was as Perfect as always!!
Despite being interesting, this anthologie doesn't give anything crucial to "Joe Ledger" Universe.
What happened during warehouse operation before "Patient Zero"?
How did Amira's final virus worked out?
What dark secrets US government have?
Whether Joe found Grace's killer?
How "Ghost" appeared in Joe's life?
So if you are dying to get answers to questions above then this book is for you,
otherwise just skip it and you won't miss it.
Already Read Em.
I love Mr. Porter. Alot.
My own fault. I didn't pay close enough attention. I had already purchased the individual stories. Simply didn't realize that this was a collection of individual stories that I already HAD. What a waste of money! That being said. I love Joe Ledger. I love these little asides that help you learn about Joe and his life. I love Ray Porter's narration. I started this series thinking it was probably going to be a hokey zombie series. How wrong I was. Love the series. And will read Deep Pine next.
Joe Ledger Rules
I love them all. Joe, Bunny, Top, and Mr. Church are all so well defined and brought to life.
I enjoyed their visit to Pine Deep.
A must for Ledger's fans. The short stories really help fill in some of the gaps between the novels.
Harry Turtledove fan
Filled the gaps. Ghost was introduced. Always wondered how a cat person switched to a Dog. It was a bit unconventional.
The narration is really, really in-the-place thing. I felt i was living the character.
When Joe was surprised about the killer.
Keep it up Ray Porter.
I like Jonathan Maberry and his action packed and scientific based stories.
It's multiple stories so its not a full length novel. I might have enjoyed listening to one file extended out just a bit but I understand why the book was written or at least published in the form that it was.
Ray Porter is up there with some of the best.
No maybe 3 sittings
For those of you that are wanting to tie up some loose ends in the Joe Ledger Series this book is for you, but if you did not listen to the first 3 stories prior to this book, you will be lost.
Listening to some of the background from the series was great!
ummm. Joe Ledger of course?????
Probably the small town story, was a great one.
Really? I won't even answer that one, OK, I will... JOE LEDGER
Listen, Love it
Intriguing, riveting, intense
You cannot and will not forget Joe Ledger visiting Pine Deep and running into a couple of our faves from that series. And when he finally catches up to Amirah, the scene that plays out is quite interesting.
Ray Porter has this dry, sarcastic tone when he's voicing Ledger, yet when he voices Top and Bunny, it's completely different. He does each character justice in inflection and attitude.
There were a couple of scenes that had me laughing. Top asking Ledger why the old guy always had to run up and down the stairs....trust me, you have to listen.
The combination of Jonathan Maberry's writing and Ray Porter's narration combine for an awesome set of short stories. It helps if you've read at least one or two books in the Ledger series, but if I didn't know what was going on, this would certainly make me want to take a peek.
Having read the previous Joe Ledger books, this was my first audiobook in the series. Narration is perfect. Every character is distinct and acted out. It makes it sound dramatized rather than just purely a reading. Here's hoping the narrator performs Maberrys earlier books. Stories may seem random but I really recommend reading ALL of Maberrys previous books to get the best experience. Love this writer!
