Publisher's summary

I’ve lost it. :( The only thing in the world I wasn’t supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It’s been in Magnus’s family for three generations. And now the very same day his parents are coming, I’ve lost it. The very same day! Do not hyperventilate, Poppy. Stay positive :) !!

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her “happily ever after” begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!

Well, perfect except that the phone’s owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn’t agree. He wants his phone back and doesn’t appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life.

What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other’s lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents . . . she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.

Great Summer Read

I really liked this story. It was a fun read, with a very touching ending. It took me a bit to get used to the narrator, but she grew on me. In the world of technology cell phones have become such an essential item, this story showed how our dependencies on such technology has become. It was sheer genius to develop a story around a cell phone, and texting, you could really feel the connection between Sam and Poppy developing. Take a chance you can't go wrong with this one. Enjoy!!

Loved it!

I loved the story line. I love it when books make me laugh out loud which this one did quite a bit. Jayne Entwistle did a wonderful job narrating it.

If you love Sophie Kinsella’s books then this is a must read!

True to Sophie Kinsella style this book was a page turner. The protagonists are always likable and relatable and you’ll root for them until the very end.

Light and Silly

Sometimes you just need to read something light and silly. Though, for me, even something light has to be well written and well developed. Sophie Kinsella's new book fits the bill. Despite its wackiness, the plot had good twists and turns and the characters were sufficiently quirky and easy to like. The narrator did a good job, thought I didn't love her voice. Glad for the respite!

Wonderfully Awkward

So many awkward situations, so many ways to laugh!! A rather long book but I wish there were more.
The narration is perfect. I’m American, but I could hear different kinds of British accents. Each character had his/her own voice, and Ms. Entwistle made it seems effortless.
The story is about learning to stand up for oneself, but still be a nice person. And, to pay attention when your subconscious says “that’s a bit odd”.
Lovely. I laughed out loud several times and cried a bit, too. I also could not put it down. Recommended for a fun read.

Funny, fun & entertaining

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s your basic chick lit so don’t expect anything earth shattering. There are a lot of F bombs in this book. I don’t think they add anything. They could easily be dropped and the book wouldn’t lose anything, which would be my preference.
