Best friends May, Lara, and Clare are desperate for a holiday. But when they arrive in Ren Dullem, it seems it is not the place they thought it was.…
May can't wait to get away from men after being cruelly deceived. Then in Dullem she falls for one of the inhabitants….
Lara walks in to find her boyfriend, James, in bed with his ex. She needs the sea air to heal her.
Clare's kind boyfriend Lud wants her to live abroad with him, but she's just been offered a promotion. It gives her the excuse she needs to end the relationship and find some excitement.
Will this holiday be the break they all need?

I love Milly Johnson books just buy them as they become available. This one however was okay but probably the least favourite of all her books.
Here Come the Girls was great I listened to it quite a few times but this one
definitely is a once only listen.
Psych RN who dreams of living in a forest inside a hollow tree with my hubby and dog, listening to Audible books while bunnies frolic around
Milly Johnson never disappoints and the narrator just completes the whole package. I've listened to 6 books of Milly and I hope there are many more to come. Her books are fun and have happy endings.
Love these books and narrator. Real-ish women characters, real problems, good coverage of this age group. A little too magical for my taste, still good listen.
I don't really know. Noone? People who like stories about mermaids?
That I have enjoyed so many of her other books, and this one was just so silly. I couldn't tell the main characters from each other, and the men they fell in love with, yuk and yuk!
She was the only good thing aboyt this book
"Hoped the town secret was a joke..."
It started well, a promising chick lit / romantic read... Then came the ridiculous town secret..I mean really?! Everything else was quite realistic but that? So strange! It needed to be either chick lit or fantasy but it just didn't work as a bit of both!
Not if they all follow the strange chick lit/fantasy theme...
Yes, it was one of the better things about it
Minus the silly secret, it was reasonably well written
I did not want this book to end!!! It is a wonderful tale full of great characters not to mention the wonderful seaside town in which residents keep a secret and it all adds to the magical warmth of the story.
Can't wait to read more from this author and the narrator is truly awesome!!!!
All the three women who visited this seaside resort!
The one where Gladys got her just rewards from Raine!
The scene where the owner of the cottage showed the carving of his dead dog to Lara.
Totally loved this book so much and will listen to it many a time!!!!
I enjoyed this audio book. I sometimes got the girls mixed up at the beginning. I thought the end a little strange. It certainly had a twist to the storyline .
"Really enjoyable read"
An easy read, lovely characters, great for on holiday and to switch off. I can now safely purchase another Molly Johnson book and know it will be my cup,of tea, after reading two and thoroughly enjoying both.
"Lighthearted, easy listening."
Entertaining, Funny, Interesting
Quite a lot happens to the 3 main characters in this book so it's hard to pinpoint just one. When Lara found her husband in bed with his ex, it was an amusing description ( not an amusing thing to happen to anyone I must add, but the author has a talented way with words!) Also, the demise of the dreadful Daisy - I almost cheered out loud -you'll have to listen to find out!!
I've read several of Milly Johnsons books which are narrated by Colleen Prendergast. She's a brilliant narrator and is very good at putting on different voices, accents and also changes her tone according to the age of the person she is characterising. Enjoyable to listen to
Yes it is. I was reluctant to press the pause button!!
I recommend this author especially to 30/40 somethings!
Narrator talks as if she's addressing an imbecile, just rubbish and a waste of money.
"A very different Milly Johnson book"
I have already listened to it twice. It is so involved and complicated, in a good way. I love the way that Milly Johnson has a character from another book walk through the story or just get a mention as though they are all living on the same planet.
It is impossible to say, the three girls were all lovely. I disliked the three characters who I deemed as users in the whole of the rest of the book, though.
Her comic timing in the places where laughing is the only option.
I think that as with all of Milly Johnson's books there is the feeling of knowing that even though there is sadness it is in the normal scheme of things. The happiness is what stays there afterward.
This was so different I come from the North of England, I would love to swim in that Lagoon! The characters are people that you can love or hate but you do care about them. I look forward to the next book, I reread the other books of Milly Johnson's that I own. What a great find she was.
"An enjoyable, entertaining listen"
Perhaps because I was listening rather than reading it took a while for me to remember which of our three protagonists was suffering from which romantic predicament but as the story progressed I tied the right lovelorn character up with the right messy situation. This story was original, absorbing and entertaining . This is good heart-warming fair - a lovely light listen written and narrated with flair. I shall be trying more Milly Johnson in future.
"Nice for a holiday"
Middling, but at the better end of that category.
The beginning was a bit long winded and unnecessary, and I am never a fan over overt sex scenes in books. I also had trouble distinguishing between the three female leads for the first few hours. Nonetheless, the plot improved when the holiday began (perhaps it should have started here?) and it didn't take itself too seriously, which I personally find a requirement if I am to endure any remotely supernatural or extremely unrealistic fiction. I was surprisingly caught up by the end and even quite moved at some points, despite the unlikeliness and silliness of the events in question. Not a favourite but I don't regret listening.
They are both good.
I loved the whole story especially ,when a certain character recived her just rewards,
I like that she has narrated all of Milly Johnsons books and they way she makes you envision what you are hearing
Yes, I managed to finish it in 2 days
I have all of Milly Johnsons book and this one is one of favourites by far.
