"A sleek, romantic comedy." (Publishers Weekly)
I am a middle school reading teacher who loves to show students the wonder and joy of reading.
Not bad but not her best. I had read the books out of order so it was fun to see how things came together for this family. I still love her work and think the narrator is fabulous.
I really enjoyed this read. I typically read historical, but a contemporary was a nice change of pace. There was a scene in the beginning with Dan's ex-wife that was very unnecessary. I didn't like that. Other than that, I liked it and actually laughed out loud at times. At first I didn't care for the narrator, she was a bit boring at first. Then I grew to not pay attention to that. Good book overall.
I loved this book! I recently listed to Match Me by SEP and decided I just had to go back to the beginning of the series. If you can help it, try not to listen to any other ones in the series first. Since I started with a later book I knew the ending was going to be favorable. Despite that SEP kept me guessing on how she would take me to the end.
The character development was wonderful and the first disaster was great. I found myself trying not to tinkle my pants from laughing so hard at some of the banter between Phoebe and Dan. Great listen; can't wait to check out the others in this series.
This is the first audiobook of Susan Elizabeth Phillips I listened to and was captivated by her humor and quick paced style. I have since purchased most of her other audiobooks and have re-listened to most of them again. Terrific author!
This book is just fluff and smut, but somehow amusing enough to hold my attention. Listenting to the steamy scenes with Miss Perfect-body-but-baggage-plus meets Mr. Jock-with-a-heart almost caused me to run off the road. With a cast that includes the billionairess with the strained clothing budget, the surly teenager who warms to Mr. Jock-with-the-giant-ego, The movie star look-alike Nerd who comes into his own, and the freckel faced pre-school teacher are all too much.
I forgot just how droll romance novels are!
I love every book that this author writes and the narrator is the very best I have ever heard. Great story with wonderful characters fully developed. Had me laughing out loud at times.
I do like any book by Ms Phillips. Good characters and funny, snappy lines- she always makes me laugh outloud. I always wish I could keep hearing about the lives of her characters- they seem so real and like friends at the end of the story! fun read
