Gideon's naive compared to the wolves at Midvale Academy, especially Cullen and Nicholas, his charming, morally ambiguous roommates. They welcome Gid by trashing his music and betting big on when he'll lose his virginity. Will he lose it with the cute and feisty Molly McGarry? Or with Pitar Benitez-Jones, the most beautiful girl Gid's ever seen? Gid actually likes Molly, and hooking up with her might be possible. But winning Pilar would be legendary. Gid is torn; he wants to prove himself to his roommates, but he also wants love. Through it all there's one hysterically funny girl sharing every thought in Gid's conflicted little mind. But who is she?

"If J.D. Salinger and Candace Bushnell had a daughter, she would write like Sarah Miller." (Melissa Kantor, author of Confessions of a Not It Girl)
Inside the Mind of Gideon Rayburn gives a vivid insight into lives previleged prep school students beyond the glamorous facades and into the lives of a number of diverse characters. Sarah Miller gives Gideon a diverse personality through the thoughts of a mysterious girl, with whom he unknowingly shares. Gideon’s emotions and thoughts are evaluated by the mysterious girl, who does not reveal herself until the end. There is also a strong number of supporting characters - sophisticated Pilar, witty/beautiful Molly, and Gid's scheming roommates Cullen and Nicholas (to name a few). There are exciting moments within the story where there is a sense of suspense. A very descriptive, enjoyable and exciting first novel by Sarah Miller, who I hope will write a sequel with similar caliber.
