Publisher's summary

In Session, from international best seller M.J. Rose, features the return of Dr. Morgan Snow, in a brand-new story collection!

As a therapist specializing in sexual issues, psychiatrist Dr. Morgan Snow isn't easily shocked or shaken, as readers and listeners of the popular "Butterfield Institute" novels know. There are times, however, when the need for her services leads her out of the office... and into unfamiliar worlds.

In these stories, the therapist matches her wits - and her training - against three men of mystery: Jack Reacher, John Rain, and Cotton Malone. These characters are, of course, familiar to listeners as the creations, respectively, of New York Times best-selling authors Lee Child, Barry Eisler, and Steve Berry. All three swore that their characters would never agree to therapy - unless Rose found a way to get them there. And she did.

In "Extenuating Circumstances" with Steve Berry's Cotton Malone, a woman seeks help for her lover, and sends Dr. Snow overseas on a most unusual house call.

In "Decisions, Decisions", Barry Eisler's John Rain forces Dr. Snow out of her own comfort zone, and into the world of a former patient's worst nightmare.

And in "Knowing You're Alive", with Lee Child's Jack Reacher, there are revelations for both the injured Dr. Snow and her unexpected savior/patient.

Note that this book uses the actual narrators from each character's respective series (Phil Gigante/Natalie Ross: Dr. Morgan Snow; Scott Brick: Cotton Malone; Barry Eisler: John Rain; Dick Hill Jack Reacher).

All the proceeds of the audiobook and a share of the proceeds of the ebook will be donated to David Baldacci's Wish You Well Foundation, supporting family literacy. (wishyouwellfoundation.org/)

These characters are the creations, respectively, of New York Times best-selling authors Lee Child, Barry Eisler, and Steve Berry, and are used with their full knowledge and participation.

Critic reviews

"Jack Reacher, John Rain and Cotton Malone, on the sex therapist's couch. Testosterone therapy as high art. What could be better? One of the most original and well-done series of stories I've ever read. M.J. Rose has blasted this baby to the ozone. I don't care if you download it or listen to it. just get it." (David Baldacci)
"When John Rain considers taking on Dr. Morgan Snow as a client, the danger isn't winding up in a coffin - it's winding up on the couch. But I made him take the risk anyway, and it was a blast!" (Barry Eisler)

Labor of Love--

Only suggestion --listen to the Authors interview at the end of the tape before you listen the Stories--
To hear the background of how this came to be is truely inspiring and gutsy, and also to hear what nice guys the authors are!!-- Kudos- M.J. Rose! Then the extra mile, to have the regular narrators on audible read their characters- Brilliant. So enjoyed!!

She nails it!!!

What made the experience of listening to In Session: Dr. Morgan Snow with Steve Berry's Cotton Malone, Lee Child's Jack Reacher & Barry Eisler's John Rain the most enjoyable?

The fact that the original narrators for each character read their parts

What other book might you compare In Session: Dr. Morgan Snow with Steve Berry's Cotton Malone, Lee Child's Jack Reacher & Barry Eisler's John Rain to and why?

There is none other that I am aware of. It is very unique and took a lot of guts to pull this off

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

All the narrators were fantastic as they are the original for the characters

Who was the most memorable character of In Session: Dr. Morgan Snow with Steve Berry's Cotton Malone, Lee Child's Jack Reacher & Barry Eisler's John Rain and why?

That would be impossible to say because I am a fan of all three and the way she was able to actually get them to talk to her was truly inventive. All three stories are very clever.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the concept as much as the actual stories. I give a lot of credit to M. J. for capturing the true likeness of all three characters!! Job well done!!

Fun Cross-Over Stories

I listened to these before I listened to any of the books by Child, Eisler or Berry and enjoyed them. Now I am more familiar with John Rain and Jack Reacher I am going to have to go back and listen again. I love to see my favorite characters in different situations and interacting with other favorite characters. So this was a fun quick listen. Of course Dick Hill did a great job with the narration!

Very Good!!!

I am only aware of the Jack Reacher character in this book but it was very thrilling and entertaining to listen to. I like how they brought different characters from different books together in a plausible way. Jack Reacher story was incredibly nice and sooooo Reacher. I enjoyed it immensely.

A Dream Come True

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I would recommend this book. First, the concept was amazing. As a therapist myself, it was nice to get into the minds of three of the deadliest alpha dogs in the thriller genre. Second, the fact that they were voiced by people who usually bring them to life made it feel familiar and authentic. I hope there are more short stories like this to come.

What was one of the most memorable moments of In Session: Dr. Morgan Snow with Steve Berry's Cotton Malone, Lee Child's Jack Reacher & Barry Eisler's John Rain?

For me, it was when Midori showed up in the John Rain story. I have to admit, I wasn't sure how Dr. Snow was going to be able to speak with "The iceman", but I know John would (still) move heaven and earth for his son's mother. Outstanding. Well played.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have and these perfromance were on par with their best work. I happily added it to my collection.

If you could rename In Session: Dr. Morgan Snow with Steve Berry's Cotton Malone, Lee Child's Jack Reacher & Barry Eisler's John Rain, what would you call it?

I wouldn't. The title is perfect.

Any additional comments?

I am glad that proceeds are going to charity. What a nice way to "be the change you wish to see in the world".

An interesting combo of bad guys in therapy

I've read all the John Rain and Jack Reacher books and several of the Cotton Malone so I had a pretty good background in ind of the characters stared in this short story.

The idea was a good one and the execution effective-but there really isn't a plot or single story line that nicely combines the characters.

If I hadn't been a fan of all the main protagonists I'd ask for a refund..as it is I doubt it will ever get a second read from me.

Narration is ok but gosh I'm so tired of Dick Hill and Scott Brick being the go to narrators of almost every bad guy...c'mon..there are some great male narrators out there. Hill and Brick aren't the only ones available.

Unique perspective!

Titillating peek into the psyches of some of my favorite characters. I love the fact that the series narrators got on board for this project.

Amazing

Awesome job bringing out the human nature of three iconic characters. I've listened to all of John Rain and Reacher the way the characters were introduced and their solutions to the questions posed was spot on. I have to check out cotton malone now. John Rain...that one was the best, spot on.
