Deep Voodoo

I Absolutely loved it. Excellent story line as well ending. Suspenseful and a who done it that will keep you guessing, guessing wrong that is. Loves the characters. I would recommend this book and can't wait until the next book.

Excellent narration even with the Massachusetts accent, (garage) lol.

voodoo with a twist

I, like everyone else does when they read or listen to a mystery, tried to figure out 'who dunnit" I didn't guess it right... many times I can..It was a great ending to a fun romantic mystery!

So Mojo, Louisiana is in...Canada?

The story was fun and funny, but the reader's northern North American accent was so distracting, I had trouble following the sentences because I kept repeating her pronunciation in my head. I think you'll enjoy the book more if you read it instead of listen to it.

A good read!

murder, suspense, voodoo, louisiana, romance, law-enforcement, lawyers, twisty

Another interesting book found hiding in the TBR pile! Her cheating ex husband gets murdered during the town's voodoo festival and she is the prime suspect. A delicious PI is in town following leads on a couple of missing persons cases and the chemistry is amazing. Good mystery with some fascinating characters.
Maureen Jones is excellent as narrator and differentiates the characters well.

Who do you voodoo?

Not as bad as all the reviewers are complaining about. This book was a bit funny, albeit not a lot of depth to it. My worst complaint would be that the main character's inner dialog with herself was slightly whinny. Over all if you are looking for a light romance with some mystery this would be a good choice, but I recommend waiting until this book is on sale. I have read other books by Stephanie Bond and have enjoyed them before. Also the narrator is not as horrible as stated, even if she can't pronounce garage. I happened to pick it up with the Whispersync program so for a few bucks I enjoyed it.

Cute Story

What did you like best about this story?

The story was a good mystery with lots of twists that kept me guessing.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The only thing I didn't like about this audio book was that the characters are from Louisiana and the narrator sounded like she was from Wisconsin. Not a good combination.

Twists and turns... fun read!

Just when you thought you knew what was going on, the story takes off in another direction. It was like riding a well designed roller coaster. For real! I got lost in time, listening to the story. Besides hating the way the narrator slaughters the word “garage,” I completely enjoyed this story and the narration.

Great story, excellent narrator!

Thoroughly enjoyed the story. As always, Stephanie Bond gives us a layered mystery. When you think the mystery is almost over, there is still more delicious storytelling to come.

Deep Voodoo

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this audiobook because it was a fun story. It had the right amount of romance, interesting characters, and was pretty well plotted. There were some twists and turns which all tied together well. I was surprised at the end, but it made perfect sense.

What did you like best about this story?

The Voodoo aspects and how it tied the story together. I thought her characters were likeable and believable.

What about Maureen Jones’s performance did you like?

I did feel that she has a nice voice but sometimes it didn't seem to convey the action. I thought she did ok portraying the different characters.

If you could rename In Deep Voodoo, what would you call it?

I loved the name. Don't change it.

Any additional comments?

This was a very enjoyable listen.

Whats up with how this chick pronounces stuff?!?

I was so excited when i heard it was in Louisiana cause I love to hear my La accent in stories. Then i was greatly disappointed. The narrator killed this performance, not in a good way. Im going to go get the next book right now and Im crossing my fingers we get a new narrator.
