But more than anything, he is emotionally devastated by this teenager who has never met him, doesn’t know him, is certainly not in love with him, but is in every respect identical to the young beauty he first met and married some 40 years earlier.

They begin a furtive relationship as mentor and protégée, but even as Dane tries to sort out who she really is, and she tries to understand why she is drawn to him, they are watched by secretive interests who not only possess the answers to Mandy’s powers and misplacement in time but also the roguish ability to decide what will become of her.

Frank Peretti has crafted a rich, rewarding story of love and life, loss and restoration, full of twists and mystery. Exceptionally well written, Illusion will soon prove another Peretti classic.

Peretti is one of kind

I've loved Peretti's work for years, original ideas, engaging mysteries, with logic reasoned out to a strong finish. I recommend his work to anyone that loves to read and think beyond the storyline. He is a Christian author and one of the reasons I started reading his work but I strongly recommend this book for science fiction lovers! You won’t be pounded by his Faith but you will get a feel for his depth of character. The science this story takes a person on is a roller coaster for sure :)

This was the first time I listened to a book read by the author, it was such fun to feel the story and excitement knowing that it was truely the way he would have wanted it.

This wasn't the story I thought it would be but loved every minute of it. I am never disappointed by Mr. Peretti!

I loved it

What was one of the most memorable moments of Illusion?

Mandy`s experience when she suddenly is wearing a hospital gown in the park and everything has changed. Reminded me a a nightmare that you just want to wake up from.

Have you listened to any of Frank Peretti’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard him narrate prior to this novel. I was a little leery when I saw the author was narrating but he did a fine job.

Any additional comments?

The last chapters of the book were so suspenseful, I was wishing I had the printed copy so I could speed read to find out what happened. This book would make an awesome movie.

Captures Your Imagination

Frank Peretti leads the reader in this dance. A well paced adventure with multiple surprises. Though far reaching fantasy, the story seems plausible.

All written stories must end. This journey, I wanted to continue. Great book.

Mesmerizing!

It took me a while to get into this story, but I was very glad I stayed with it. Frank Perretti writes with the most incredible imagination. I have listened to many of his novels. I have not found one yet that didn't keep me awake late into the night because I was too involved to stop listening. Illusion tests and stretches the mind, and the characters seem real. I was touched and inspired by the love between the two main characters. I especially liked listening the author's narration.

Stunning Romance-Mystery-SciFI

Illusion is a smooth blend of genre - mystery, romance, and even a little science / speculative fiction added for good measure. Peretti takes the reader on a journey through life, death, and eternity. Like the magicians that make up the main characters, the more I describe ruins the magic of the book. It is simply a suspenseful, harrowing, tear-jerking, emotionally stirring, mind-ending, wide-eyed-wonder capture of the human experience.

Even more than the book, it is wonderful to hear Peretti narrate this. He has a great grand-fatherly tone and I was taken back to my childhood when my grandfather would tell stories at bed time. Even more than just the quality, as Dane and Mandy are patterned off of him and Barb, his love shows through his voice.

Thank you Frank Peretti, for a quality piece of writing that warms the spirit, massages the heart, and stimulates the mind.
