It's official. Angela Clarke is in love - with the most fabulous city in the world. Fleeing her cheating boyfriend and clutching little more than a crumpled bridesmaid dress, a pair of Louboutins and her passport, Angela jumps on a plane, destination - New York City.
Holed up in a cute hotel room, Angela gets a New York makeover from her NBFJenny and a whirlwind tour of the city that never sleeps. Before she knows it, Angela is dating two sexy guys. And, best of all, she gets to write about it in her new blog (Carrie Bradshaw eat your heart out). But it's one thing telling readers about your romantic dilemmas; it's another figuring them out for yourself.
Angela has fallen head over heels for the Big Apple, but does she heart New York more than home?

The editing really is terrible.
The editing really is terrible.
See how annoying that was to read the same sentence twice? Now try listening to the same sentence twice... quite often. Come on.
The content was fluffy (not bad) and tried for amusing, but instead the protagonist acts so stupidly it's really not fun to listen to. You sort of want to shake her and then get her into AA. And I'm someone who likes to drink - which I had to do alot of after reading this just to forget it.
Never listened to an audiobook before where passages are repeated, you can hear the reader sigh when she gets something wrong etc.! The story is relatively entertaining, though.
This was a pretty good listen as far as chic-lit goes. The narrator was wonderful and the story was predictable but still fun.
I hope it has been mislabeled as unabridged, because there are definitely parts missing. I think this is a technical problem as opposed to the quality of the writing, if not she has a really crap editor. You can still follow the story, but there are obvious scenes missing, like the makeover and a sex scene referred to many times.
Even though there was this problem I still loved the main character. I'll probably download the sequel and just hope that it contains the whole book.
This is one of my favourite books so I was excited to purchase the audible version to listen to it on the go... what a disappointment - entire chapters are missing (including my fave bit when Jenny takes Angela shopping in NYC!), sections are repeated - a complete and utter mess - how it got beyond a quality review is beyond me. Such a shame and such an offence to Lindsey Kelk.
I love Angela and Jenny as a combo - such a fun pair!
Whoever is responsible for producing this audible version needs to revisit it and sort it out so that it does the story credit.
I already listened to I Heart Vegas so I decided to download the first book....should have read everyone's reviews first. I've never listen to an abridged version where they cut out so many major parts where they mention it later and you think, "wait, when did that happen?". Plus Its like the didn't finish editing! The reader repeated the same sentence twice many times during the book, obviously where they needed to cut what she said the first time but didn't. It reminded me of when records used to get stick on a word.
Although I realize this is an abridged version of the story, there are huge sections of the book missing that disrupt continuity. There are also many instances where the narrator stumbles and/or completely repeats a section. Perhaps a result of poor editing, however this should never have passed quality control. This is the first Audible download I've been disappointed with.
Terrible editing that completely butchered the book - don't download!!! It's one of my favourite books but this version leaves out some of the most important parts!!
Terrible editing, especially at the end when you can hear her saying "I'll try that one again". Not up to standard at all.
But the book and this series is AMAZING
"Superb book & series - Terrible Audio & narration"
The narrator not repeating sentences and messing up many times. The audio not turning into a echo every so often
She messed it up.
Anger at the audio.
I love this book, as a book. However this recording was terrible.
Fun, exciting and funny
I liked how brave she was just to go to New York just after her break up.
I have recently taking up a new hobby and that is audio-books. I am blind in my left eye and partly sighted in my right eye so it's much easier listening than reading.. I have to say I really enjoyed listening to this book. It was fun and exciting and I couldn't get enough. Really excited to hear the other books by Lindsey Kelk. The book was well read very easy to understand and the different tones of her voices made it even more exciting.
