Nightingale Books, nestled on the high street in the idyllic Cotswold town of Peasebrook, is a dream come true for booklovers. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open. The temptation to sell up is proving enormous - but what about the promise she made to her father? Not to mention the loyalty she owes to her customers.
Sarah Basildon, owner of stately pile Peasebrook Manor, has used the bookshop as an escape from all her problems in the past few years. But is there more to her visits than meets the eye?
Since messing up his marriage, Jackson asks Emilia for advice on books to read to the son he misses so much. But Jackson has a secret and is not all he seems....
And there's Thomasina, painfully shy, who runs a pop-up restaurant from her tiny cottage. She has a huge crush on a man she met and then lost in the cookery section, somewhere between Auguste Escoffier and Marco Pierre White. Can she find the courage to admit her true feelings?
How to Find Love in a Book Shop is the delightful story of Emilia's fight to keep her bookshop alive, the customers whose lives she has touched - and the books they all love.

"relaxing and comforting"
This book deals with grief and life. You know where it is going but it is a gentle journey. A perfect Christmas read as it finishes at Christmas time and therefore it would make you feel festive. I have just listened to it in the summer whilst gardening and it was perfect for that too
"Lovely Story, Terrible Narrator"
Always fab to read a new VH & I enjoyed the story, although didn't feel it was one of her best.
The narrator was terrible, her voice was all wrong for the characters, most of the female characters sounded the same, so it was often difficult to tell who was talking, if no other indication had been made.
"Even a cynical old b***** like me can enjoy this"
Do you know it does us all good to listen to book like this now and again. It was the bookshop part of the title that drew me in (as a twice divorced woman it certainly wasn't the love angle). Another reviewer's description of 'brain fluff' is probably right but amongst all the angst novels and dark thrillers this really is a lovely escape. Yes all the people are nice and yes there are lots of happy endings - but tramping with the dogs on the common after a tough day at work isn't it sometimes nice to get a nice warm glow when someone gets her man!
"gentle and heartwarming"
The narrator reads quietly and with empathy. The story unfolds as a gentle love story
Another lovely book from Veronica Henry. This one will make you laugh, cry and cheer.
"not my favourite veronica henry but still worth it"
not my favourite veronica henry book i have listened to alot but still worth a listen.
"Easy listen, comfy chick lit"
A nice book to wind down with, right balance of romance, lifestyle and ambition.
Happy believable ending
"A beautiful story let down by the performance"
I loved the story: a book about books and life in a small village with inhabitants I would love to have as friends and neighbours. I wanted to get to know them and share more of their life... however, from minute one I was put off by the reader who didn't actually read the book but actually whispered it, and often I had to put the volume up to be able to hear anything; all the male characters sounded the same and also all the female characters had the same voice. I have listened to enough audiobooks to know this wasn't a very good performance and I wished I would have read the book instead of listening to it.
If you like your money's worth its choc full of charecter's and stories. From the women in the manor, her gardener, the bookshop owner, carpenter and account. The whole town is in on the action.
Little hard to follow at the start, with a jumpy timeline and no real introduction to all the characters. But once your in it has charm. Think a British version of Stars Hollow.
"Waste of time and money"
Absolutely awful, cheesy story. Narration not much better. Don't waste your time. Mental note never to purchase anything by Veronica Henry.
