Publisher's summary

From the number one New York Times best-selling author of The Black Widow comes the thrilling new summer blockbuster featuring legendary spy, assassin and art restorer Gabriel Allon.

Allon is back and out for revenge - determined to hunt down the world's most dangerous terrorist, a shadowy ISIS mastermind known only as Saladin.

Four months after the deadliest attack on the American homeland since 9/11, terrorists leave a trail of carnage through London's West End. The attack is a brilliant feat of planning and secrecy, but with one loose thread: the French-Moroccan street criminal and ISIS operative who supplied the combat assault rifles.

The thread leads Gabriel Allon and his team to the south of France and to the doorstep of Jean-Luc Martel and Olivia Watson. A beautiful former fashion model, Olivia pretends not to know that the true source of Martel's enormous wealth is drugs. And Martel, likewise, turns a blind eye to the fact he is doing business with a man whose objective is the very destruction of the West. Together, under Gabriel's skilled hand, they will become an unlikely pair of heroes in the global war on terror.

Brilliant Espionage

Great espionage story, this writer is the modern day equivalent of your Tom Clancy, John Le Carre types. Really enjoyed this story, and definitely will back track and read the earlier stories as well. #GabrielAllon #JewishHero #Sweepstakes #Tagsgiving

From Criminals to ISIS

A story of drugs, arms dealers, art & intelligence services. An excellent commentary on how terrorism is sponsored. Even though this is a work of fiction the author has done painstaking research & presented the story superbly. The writing is eloquent & clever. A very entertaining story.

Another top tier effort from Daniel Silva

Another top tier effort from Daniel Silva, ably assisted by narrator George Guidall. The kind of story we've come to expect from this team, with attention to descriptive detail and full of mystery and intrigue, all delivered with first class narration.

Really enjoyable!

This was my first Daniel Silva book and I really enjoyed it. I wasn't concentrating in some parts and had to go back because I missed some of the players and was confused at what was going on, and that is what made it so enjoyable. The story was intricate, involved and elaborate.
A really good read that I can recommend

A nice change by including other characters.

Love this series, however having read all books in the series I find the repetition of past events and characters annoying - and it’s also very clear there is too much repetition of storylines intended to meet the publishing word count!

Otherwise excellently written and performed.
