These are two of my absolute favorite authors, but this book just never got off the ground. The story was weak and it lacked a lot of the tension I've come to expect from both these authors. A better narrator might have helped, as this one was a bit monotone, but all in all the imagry and suspense I was expecting from these two heavy-hitters just wasn't there. I'll keep reading their individual books though. Those are incredible!
Avid reader! Want fast paced, energetic thrillers. King/Koontz are favorites but finding more authors that are starting to rise to the top
Too many conflicts and I wasn't convinced by the characters. Predictable.
all books horror. especially zombie
I chose to ignore the reviews and listen to this one anyway. Bad decision! I hate hearing saliva noises in the narrators mouth and there is a lot of that. Besides that its a pretty shallow story on a subject i've seen before
The tension and the conflict of the characters. The good vs. evil plot.
The battle between Susan and White.
The peak of the Susan vs. White battle
No. I always like to savor a good book.
Kevin King is an excellent narrator.
I read about this book before I read it, so I knew the surprise going in. With that said, I didn't find the story confusing. Though u had to pay attention. I loved the message and the cause of the haunted house was pefect!
I am a fan of all Frank Peretti books and liked this just as much. Very good book ... much to think about as the book ends!
Yes, as it gets you to thinking about true horror when you consider the person who lives inside of you and accountability.
That I could not figure it out. The twist just kept coming.
Like the entire story as the plot flowed from start to end!
I hated when the ride was over and it was clear from the ending that the story of life and traps are never over.
This may fall under the 'Christian fiction' umbrella, but def not horror, that seems a disrespect to S. King and others.
that said...this hole filled, pedestrian, excruciatingly boring yarn, written on an 8th grade level, was pure drivel. not to mention oddly and quietly racist.
Going to actual church would be much more edifying than this piece of scare'um to god approach. This kind of formula pulp made for a dreary listen.
That said in its defense, I had no idea I stumbled on a 'genre' book, with i suppose, Gods light being the deux ex machina of every tale.
"THE BEST BOOK I HAVE READ IN 2012!"
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I love suspense and fantasy, but most books ignore God and His mercy. This book combined everything I love to read and also combine it with the miracle of God's love for us, and how He is willing to lead us on the path of forgiveness as long as we are willing to trust and obey Him. The main characters are two couples, all with issues from their past, and their struggle to overcome their personal fears and weaknesses, while struggling to stay alive in a house filled with evil; the worst of all being stalked by a serial killer. This book is gripping and thought-provoking. A must read for every Christian who loves this genre.
"House by frank peretti ,Ted Dekker"
This book starts off quite good you can picture the scene so well but as the book goes on it gets a little confusing and i found myself drifting a bit but the ending as ab it of a twist its a good 10 hours so be prepared to concentrate
