Newly married and having recently taken over the management of a hotel in Honolulu, a former writer is drawn into the lives of his guests and the distinctive customs and rhythms of the distant island.

Great Characters
My favorite book by Paul Theroux. Full of emotion and honesty. Great narrator. A great story about starting again, with nothing but your wit, an eye for trouble, and sometimes joy.
