But dreams can have a cruel price. For Susannah, daughter of a bigwig in a competing company, success means losing her family. The trade-off is unimagined courage and a passion that will enrich her dramatically. Is it worth it?

"Fun and lively." (Publishers Weekly)
This was fun to listen to and brought me back to my early computer days. It may be most appealing to romance loving computer nerds such as myself. The comparison to Apple were obvious, but fun for reminiscing over those early days of the personal computer.
I have listen to all but Glitter Baby - I held out on this one because it was 2 credits, personally this was not worth the credits - it was not one SEP better books. I did not find the story to be interesting and the characters mundane ??? I am a big fan of Anna Fields but even did not enjoy her reading this book. I wish I could get at least 1 credit back
Not one of SEPs best, but was still a good listen. I did find myself drifting off in the middle a little bit, but would still recommend this read - after you've listened to all the others!
one of my favorites
the humerous bantering between the the two lovers
she is a great narrator for Suzanne E Phillips, always portrays her wit, and edgy remarks
had to read/listen to the enitre book in one sitting....
Sales career / married 40 years with 5 grands, I like wholesome romance or mystery type books. I also enjoy self help or motivational books
I like almost all of SEP books. This one is Interesting story line about creation of computers and those who ingeniunity great wealth. Sometimes predictable but always entertaining!
I've loved Susan Elizabeth Phillips other Audible books. I have almost all of them. I waited and waited to get this one - wish I'd waited longer. I will try other books written by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, but will probably read them before I buy the Audible version.
Not sure ...
Anna Fields was an amazing narrator. She made the books come alive. But even she didn't do so well, droning on and on about Silicone Valley and a Hippie Bill Gates. That's the hard part about book recordings, you can't skim parts you don't like.
The character I'd cut is the computer. It felt like it had a life of its own. Or maybe the company the three characters were building together. It took such a long time for anything significant to happen. Maybe because we already know the history of computers, laptops, etc. It just dragged on and on.
i love SEP, and felt so disappointed in this book. I have listened to her other books many times. They are like old friends. I hope she writes something new and exciting very soon.
I enjoyed the story and loved one more opportunity to experience the incomparable narration of the late Anna Fields. I thought the story held up well, despite its age.
Former Waitress, Chargeback clerk, Clown, Florist owner, Clergy. Love series, humor, twists, history, mysteries, not into witches/bondage.
I liked the turns and twists. The character development. The story and the interaction of characters
Many times. It was a fun read and yet there was meat and moments of suspense.
Yes, the book had a interesting plot and a complicated romance. I really liked the descriptions of all of the technical aspects and I felt like I had a better understanding of the early computer industry after listening to this book.
Anna Fields was amazing as usual, I recommend all of the books Anna Fields has narrated.
Towards the end there was a lot of drama and it kept me riveted. I love when a book can accomplish that.
This is not SEP's usual book but it is one of her earlier ones and in my opinion one of her better ones. It doesn't follow the same format as some of her newer books and although I like those books too, this one has more substance.
