Now, though, she's all grown up, a child star no longer, but still dramatic and passionate. Two men, Dash Coogan, a cowboy movie legend, and Eric Dillion, the town's bad boy, know how fiercely she loves and lives. What Honey wants is the family she never had. She'll take the man who latches onto her dreams and who can hang on for the ride!

This was very different than many of the other SEP books I have read. However, it was different in a good way. I grew attached to the characters and it was not all roses all the time. There was some tragedy and some triumph. I highly recommend this one.
I love almost everything Susan Elizabeth Phillips writes but I really liked Honey Moon. The characters are so likable and the dialogue is witty. At times, very touching.
I buy Susan Elizabeth Phillips books for her romantic comedy writing style. I love her books for that reason and Anna Fields know exactly how to perform her books in her readings. I never thought I would find a book of Susan Elizabeth Phillips' that I didn't like. I love all of her books except for this one, so far. It was depressing and one of the reasons I buy her books is to make me laugh.
Anna Fields is a great performer and she can make anything work, but I don't think even Anna can help the depresses nature of this book.
The narrator did an excellent job (as always). However I was disappointed about the book itself. I though I had downloaded a nice Susan Elizabeth Phillips book. Great to listen to in bed, when I wasn’t feeling all right. However it wasn’t a story like all the other books of her. I clearly didn’t read all the other review before buying it. Otherwise I could have known it was a different kind of story. Definitely not a story ‘for escapism’ as I have read afterwards on another review.
I am glad this was not the first SEP book I listened to or I would have NEVER tried another one. I found the lead characters humorless, self-absorbed & way too angsty. I got depressed just listening to the book & it seemed to drag on for ages. I kept going to see if the characters would become more interesting or come to grips with some of their inner demons - all of them have major hang-ups. The ending I though was forced & not realistic. I saw no foreshadowing that allows Eric to suddenly fall in love (conveniently for the plot) with Honey... needed to show, not tell. Then when I thought there might be a happy ending, the author throws in a horrendous child molestation situation.By this point in the book I was so fed up that I can't even remember how it ends. Some kind of happy ever after w/ Honey/Eric but really no one's changed much. Sorry I spent the money & time with this story.
Really enjoyed a wonderfully woven story . Kudos to Anna Fields. The characters are rich make you joyous as their story rolls out!
The characters and storylines seemed too far apart through the first part of the book. I didn't care much about any of them, and they seemed really random. I liked the second part much better.
Of course, Anna Field's is awesome.
If this would have been my first SEP book, I probably wouldn't pick up another.
I have not read the print version, but listening to it makes the story fly along for me. There are moments I wish I had the book to flip back to check a detail...but that is not a big deal compared to having Anna Fields "do the work" of reading for me.
Endings are always a let down to me. Partly because the story is over - but mostly because the story has had me so tightly wound that the ending is always a let down. This ending is like that. The story is intense -- the ending is not.
You don't even notice how Anna Fields differentiates the characters -- but every character is distinct. She has a knack.
Honey and Dash's camping trip to Baja is romantic and tender and paints a picture of the ideal. When Eric opens up to Honey and tells her about his daughters, it makes you want to cry.
I have listened to five of Susan Elizabeth Phillips' books -- and I listened to four of those twice. Straight through, the second time within 24 hours of he first. They are so well written you want to spend more time with the characters - so even though you know what is going to happen, you listen to it again so you can spend more time with Honey and Dash and Eric.
I am the definition of a contradiction. I am a tomboy but just can't seem to get enough of romance books!
loved this book. If you are looking for a building romance this is not it. It is without a doubt filled with self distracting characters. it is a story of one woman who could never get a break. from one heart break to the next. finally when she thinks she has found it, it is yanked. in the ends it works out; really it is fate that it works out for her. this book is a roller coaster of emotion. The end is worth though.
