Everything in Nicki's life depends on the answer...

Oregon, 1887

When her husband dies in a mysterious riding accident, Nicki Trent is left with a toddler and a rundown ranch. Determined to bring her ranch back from the brink of death, Nicki hires handsome Jason Jordan to help. But when William, her neighbor, starts pressing for her hand in marriage, the bank calls in a loan she didn't even know about, bullets start flying, and a burlap dummy with a knife in its chest shows up on her doorstep… Nicki wonders if this ranch is worth all the trouble.

To make matters worse, terrible things keep happening to her neighbors. When her friend's homestead is burned to the ground and William lays the blame at Jason's feet, Nicki wonders how well she knows her new hand - and her own heart.

A desperate need. Malicious adversaries. Enticing love. Step into a day when outlaws ran free, the land was wild, and guns blazed at the drop of a hat.

    "GREAT READ, GREAT STORY,"
Would you consider the audio edition of High Desert Haven to be better than the print version?

Only have the audiobook, to listen to while driving to work. It's
very easy to follow along, and descriptive, yet not overly descriptive
were you loose sight of the story.

What other book might you compare High Desert Haven to and why?

Lynnette Bonner's other books in this series are very similar

What about Anne Johnstonbrown’s performance did you like?

The narrator was entertaining and added a flare to the characters, which made it even
more enjoyable, and even easier to follow along

Who was the most memorable character of High Desert Haven and why?

All the characters seem to add to the story, of coarse the main characters were
inspiring and delightful, I also enjoyed the transition of Jason from her first book, Rocky Mountain Oasis, to this book.

    Any additional comments?

Even though this is a religious inspired book, it is very realistic in how it is used in the story. Religion in this book is not overly dramatized, and is very well incorporated with the story, when you read or listen to the story it is very easy to understand what I mean.

    "Loved it!"
    Any additional comments?

I loved this book! It had everything including history, suspense, and Romance! I would highly recommend it to anyone! I thought it was great how she gave a bit of actual historical background on the story at the end. I love history so that makes the book so much richer as one reads it! I also loved the first book in this series. I wish they had the last two on audio because I don't have much time for reading for enjoyment. The reader was excellent too!
