Publisher's summary

Contemporary romance fans hold a special place in their hearts for New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr’s Virgin River novels—set in a quiet town nestled deep in California Redwood territory. The 17th entry in the series, Hidden Summit stars Leslie Petruso and Conner Danson, two people burned by love and ready to give up on the whole proposition. But the chemistry between them is impossible to deny, and if everyone in town can see it, why can’t they?

Before it was adapted into a Netflix show, Virgin River was a series of more than 20 novels by New York Times best-selling author Robyn Carr. The audiobooks, all read by Audie Award-winning narrator Thérèse Plummer, are well-loved by a wide audience. The series takes place in Virgin River and revolves around new resident Melinda Monroe, a nurse practitioner and midwife. There's more to this sleepy town than first appearances suggest.

Fun, delightful listen

It's not often I laugh out loud at a book but I did at this one. Leslie's second encounter with a fire extinguisher is really quite funny, especially when she declares "It's the only thing he understands". Otherwise, this is a typical Robyn Carr delight. The narrator is wonderful and you can just lose yourself in the escapism of this wonderful town and its characters. I only gave the story a 3 because, to my mind, it dragged a bit at the end but perhaps I was just waiting for another appearance of the fire extinguisher !

Loved it -- as usual

Any additional comments?

This is one of my favorite authors. She's funny, witty, and her romance is real without being voyeuristic. Her characters are interesting and compelling. Another wonderful read!

Pandemic Prescription!!!

Another one hit out of the park by the wonderful Robyn Carr and Terese Plummer duo. I am a therapist specializing in treating trauma. At the end of a long day, I need a way to unwind. The COVID-19 pandemic has only intensified my need for a break. This series, and this book, are engaging and meaningful, but not overwhelming. The happy endings are happier than real life, but not unbelievable. I’m hooked! I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did.

Another home run for me!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Hidden Summit to be better than the print version?

I can't compare the two, my imagination will always do a better job when reading a book than listening to one!! The books always read more intense. But Terese Plummer is an excellent narrator and audiobooks get me thru my daily commute, in a positive frame of mind to tackle my work day!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Leslie, she finally saw through the lousy ex-husband, something I can personally relate too!!

What does Therese Plummer bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

emotion and empathy for the characters.....

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh I got teary during a couple of the passages....

Any additional comments?

Hurry up and write more Ms Carr.......I have read all you have to offer, i will soon be going through withdrawal!!

Thank for all the hours of "take me away enjoyment!!

Feels good to visit Virgin River again!

Audiobook: Narrator - Therese Plummer

I’ll listen to anything by this narrator but especially when it comes to the Virgin River Series. She doesn such an amazing job of really bringing the characters as well as this little town to life.

It’s been a while since I’ve listened to anything from this series and I was sooo ready to dig back in. And what a great book to do it with. This has two characters that were absolutely perfect in my opinion. I loved that despite being broken and hurt in the past, they were both capable of trying again even though neither thought they’d ever do so.

I have to admit that when Leslie’s ex comes around, not causing your usual drama which was refreshing, I found myself laughing at the way she handled him. The drama Connor is facing is dark and rather scary but it really doesn’t kick in until closer to the end. Of course the reasoning for that is completely understandable.

This has several of the friends from Virgin River, obviously, but this book didn’t rely on the past books to carry it. I do believe it could be read as a stand alone. However, if you feel you should read a previous book, read book one and meet Jack because he’s pretty much in every book and he’s a hoot sometimes.

Excellent, again.

A man who witnesses a murder is hidden by a district attorney. A woman finally recovering from a divorce moves to Virgin River. Ms. Carr once again manages a charming and heartwarming HEA story with a touch of suspense in this caring and welcoming small town full of characters one would cherish as friends.

Hidden Summit

Could not shut it off for the last half of this story. An excellent well written Robyn Carr as most of them are.
