A family shattered by abuse and the town that comes together to save them.
Annie Mac's estranged husband vows that nothing will stop him from getting his baby girl. Not Annie Mac and certainly not that boy of hers.
Only four blocks away, Hannah Morgan lives in comfort with her husband and dog, making pottery and waiting for her best friend to come home. When she discovers the two children cowering in the bushes and their mama left for dead, it doesn't take her long to rally the sleepy town of Beaufort, NC, and to set her coterie of do-gooders to some extra-strength do-gooding. Add in Clay, a lonely police lieutenant yanked out of his comfort zone and into the heart of this small family, and who knows what will happen?

Heavy Weather is both beautifully written and artfully narrated. The story is full of tea-on-the-porch southern charm and just-one-more-chapter suspense. Full of aw...moments, heartbreak, love, and second chances, Heavy Weather more than delivers the thoughtful and touching story we've come to expect from Normandie Fischer story. And I can't say enough about Laura Jennings. Her narration really brought the characters to life for me.
I haven't read the print version, but the audio version was engrossing.
The characters were not one dimensional. They have flaws and weaknesses as well as strengths.
When Hannah gets to know Annie Mac, and recognizes her judgmental attitude is not helpful.
Yes, the beginning when Annie Mac asked Hannah to take the children and keep them safe.
I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the book to begin with, but when I heard Jennings tell it to me...I thought she was the perfect fit for each character!
Definitely full of every emotion when finished with this book! Well developed characters that deal with love, family life, abuse, emotional...from laughing with the characters to crying from the heartbreak they endure.... Cheering on the faithful and wishing the evil to be punished...so many twists and turns in this book!! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!
Annie Mac most definitely!
Annie Mac...she's strength in a tiny package of hurt

I download over 100 books a year. I don't even know how to go about my day without listening to a title. It's my happy place!
This was a relatively long listen but worth every single second.
The story alludes to events in an earlier book but even without listening to book one, this story felt complete.
I loved that each chapter focused on a POV! The writer and the narrator made a wonderful tandem of bringing to life the variety of characters. And what a story!
Everything I thought this story was about changed and then changed again. It was a thriller, a love story and a spiritual lesson rolled into a testament to a mother's love. I loved it.
The narrator was incredible. She handled the scariest of persona's I've ever listened to as well as the innocence of a 10 year old boy and made you believe.
I don't know if I will go back and listen to book one but I will look for other books by this author and this narrator.
I am a homemaker with 2 older children and several hobbies. I love diy projects and listening to audiobooks while doing them.
I really enjoyed the writing, the narration, the plot, and the characters of this book. I'll have to find some more by this author. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
Annie Mac has suffered terrible abuse at the hands of her estranged husband, who will stop at nothing, including murder, to take his daughter from her. Although this was a relatively long listen, it held my attention right up until the chilling climax. The plot twists and turns, the relationships with the women and Annie Mac's budding romance with Clay all made for a great listening experience. I liked the narration, plot and character development - well done! I would recommend this audiobook.

Exciting gripping moving.
I thought laura read the book well and did it justice. The feelings of the characters came across very well during her rendition of the story.
The whole book was full of emotion and made me well up inside. I had tears in my eyes most of the time. It is an incredible book and I can't praise it enough. It is full of heart and touched my soul because it was so meaningful to me as a woman. I think most women would understand what I am getting at once they read this book. Also, it would have meaning to a male audience because they would feel empathy and also it would bring out their alpha caring protective side.
I really hope you will pick up this book and read it and enjoy it as much as I did.
