Publisher's summary

Jimmi Ellen Jenkins fell in love with Marvin Gaye the day they met. Shortly thereafter, Jimmi also became Motown founder Berry Gordy's greatest asset; saving the famed musical family from the consequences of its many sins and indiscretions for over 20 years. Now, after a lifetime of her husband's betrayals, Jimmi will call upon the amazing Teddy Pendergrass as well as the secrets in her own notorious notebook to save herself and begin to heal her wounded heart. Like so many African-American women, Jimmi Jenkins is a woman of unique gifts; a polio survivor with the ability to hear the hearts of strangers; a compassionate and powerful woman, courageous enough to protect and sometimes punish the people she loves. Nearly 40 and flawless, Jimmi will come face to face with her husband's young mistress, enlist a murderer to catch a blackmailer, and in exchange for more than a million dollars, seduce a slightly mad man of God.

Written expressly for the "woman of a certain age" by Emmy Award winner Gregory Alan Williams, whose captivating voice brings the story and characters to life. Shocking, thought-provoking, sensual and provocative, Heart of a Woman is set against the backdrop of Black Radio, Black Music, and Motown in its prime. It's an audiobook filled with fascinating people, both familiar and new, spanning four decades and three generations of triumphant African-American women. For the discerning adult listener, Heart guarantees a captivating mix of laughter, drama, and remarkable storytelling. Relax, light a candle, and enjoy Heart of a Woman, an unforgettable audio experience that breathlessly probes the depths of grown-up love, men's fear of intimacy, and the loving possibilities that awaits every woman's heart.

It all comes down to this

First let me say that the narrator's voice is sinful. Oh my!
Great listen if for no other reason than that. The book is good too.

The book takes you on a journey with Ms. Jimi thru her life and the Motown era. Scandal. Love. Sex. Boss moves.
