Publisher's summary

Under normal circumstances bohemian, skint Izzie would never have met Maddy, a Gucci-clad, Beemer-driving urbanite.

But when they are dumped in the English countryside, fish out of water, with five young children between them, they discover a shared hatred of ghastly ladies' lunches and a longing for the mucky London streets and residents' parking permits they've left behind.

Then a tragedy, and a chance discovery, leads Maddy and Izzie iinto a surprising new direction ...

Good, clean fun

An interesting journey. The story was somewhat predictable but a good, mindless listen for the daily commute in traffic. I found myself looking forward to my daily installment. I especially enjoyed the narrator. Her accents made the story delicious. Actually, there are a lot of food references so this is not for those who are on a diet. This made me want to find other work by this author.

Frivolous Fun

I downloaded this because the narrator was Jilly Bond, and I've really enjoyed her performances in the past. In addition to the narration being fantastic, the story turned out to be pretty good too! I wasn't really paying enough attention at the beginning and got a little confused that there were two points of view, but as soon as I got that sorted in my head I settled into really enjoying the story.

A contemporary and warming listen

If you could sum up Goodbye, Jimmy Choo in three words, what would they be?

Due to life circumstances,Two women find they have to take control of their own path in life. As a result, they find out they are much happier than their life before when they were just trying to "fit in" to society and follow their men's lead.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Goodbye, Jimmy Choo?

I enjoyed all the parts really, it was a great journey.

Have you listened to any of Jilly Bond’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Fun, enjoyable book

I really enjoyed this book. I also listen to mysteries, so I love a good chick lit to lighten the mood.

Izzie and Maddy are each married with children and end up moving from London to a small town. Their lives have changed. They meet in this small town and a tragic event brings them together, eventually becoming best friends. While there are some parts of the story line that are expected, there are also some things that happen which I did not anticipate.

They become involved in something together and this causes both of them to change in good ways. Some of their loved ones are happy about these changes, others are not.

The narrator is good and I recommend this book.

Never really started

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No
I liked "Famous last words" so I thought I would give this a try... it has been a month and I'm still trying to make it to the end.. You just keep waiting for it to get good.. and waiting..

Also, if you are an Entrepreneur or an artist/craftsmen you will have a hard to with the lack of realism in their success.

And the French cousin's accent is unbearable

Would you ever listen to anything by Annie Sanders again?

Yes because I like the first book I heard so I'll give her another try

What aspect of Jilly Bond’s performance would you have changed?

Her accents

Did Goodbye, Jimmy Choo inspire you to do anything?

develop road rage
