Publisher's summary

The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist. Put New York Times best-selling authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett together...and all Hell breaks loose.

Critic reviews

"Pratchett (of Discworld fame) and Gaiman (of Sandman fame) may seem an unlikely combination, but the topic (Armageddon) of this fast-paced novel is old hat to both. Pratchett's wackiness collaborates with Gaiman's morbid humor; the result is a humanist delight to be savored and reread again and again." (Amazon.com review)

whimsical and thought provoking in an ironic way. Recommendation for a light hearted afternoon on a stormy day.

Love a good British comedy.

I'm still thinking back and catching subtle jokes I missed along the way. I'm very excited for the Amazon Prime Original show coming out this year! I highly recommend this audio book!

awesome

Great book! Even better that I watched series first. Doing this gives the listener images of the characters and enhances the listening experience. I think I will try this method again in the future.

Unique, hilarious and fun

Very much full of Terry Pratchett style humor, which may not be for everyone. The story is well thought out and the characters are of course immensely fun. Lots of deeper meaning below the humor and plenty of easy to miss one liners. The narration was also superb.

Nearly Perfect

This is one of my favorite books of all time, so I knew the story would be excellent. It's funny, clever, and very well-written.

The narration was also excellent. Each character had a distinct voice and the pacing and enunciation were easy to follow. The narrator's interpretation of the characters' moods actually added to the story for me.

I do have one minor complaint, though. About two-thirds of the way in, when the Horsemen meet up at the diner, Famines voice changes. He sounds less suave and controlled like a successful businessman and more fidgety and nervous. His voice goes up half an octave, and his accent becomes more British right before it becomes important to the story that he has an American accent. It was distracting, but the other 98% is perfect.

I did enjoy this entertaining and smart story. Great characters and funny yet thoughtful storyline. Did have some genuine hmmm let me ponder this or tuck that one away moments.

Amazing!

Absolutely love the dry humor throughout, you know what you're getting right off the bat. And get it still manages to have. A message about the nature of morality and religious fervor. Loved it.

One of my all time favorites.

Made even better by Martin Jarvis. The only apocalypse book worth reading for people of a mischievous and hopeful nature.
