Despite what other "by the book" reviewers have said, this is a lovely, well written and inspirational story. How comforting to know God is with us, knows us and cares what we think and feel, as individuals. What I loved most is when Joe says that Man messed up the message with individualistic, selfish interpretations then waged war over who was right. How timely. Many's the time I've referred back to this when I'm hurt or lonely or discouraged. Loving one's self is the greatest gift God gives. For those who "trashed" it before finishing, let me tell you I've listened to it many times and it always says something different and meaningful to me. Thanks, Joan, for a wonderful story.
Have you ever thought what the other person is thinking when you see them in a restaurant. Are they happy Wonder that they are talking about ? Ever wish that we were someone other than your self? A story of what you have already inside. I've bought the book in hard copy, lent it to friends given it as gifts to others it's the unexpected in a book. Get it your listen to it over and over again.
The story has so many twists . You can't help but fall in love with the characters
She is outstanding, when becomes Christine Moore .
Towards the end when she opens the box
Get it your listen to it over and over
A good friend of mine recommended this book before I continue packing my stuff. It was great!! I now have an understanding of what is really necessary for me to bring with me into my new life.
For me it is not the genre, but the skill of the writer to make me laugh, cry, to let me fade into their words and lose myself in the story.
Incredible perspective changing, thought provoking book. Presents God as an all knowing, all powerful, loving being - wanting to personally connect with a lost soul who has been turned off by the dogma of modern Christianity...takes you back to the basics...love and kindness.
This book should NOT be listed in Christian fiction. As a Christian Harley rider, I was captured by the title. However, it didn't take long to become apparent that this is new age thinking, in its purest form. God is not "whoever you want Him to be." Christians, beware! I gave it one star, only because Audible won't let you give none. I didn't even finish it. I trashed it, not wanting anyone else to be trapped by it.
Loved how the supernatural interwove with the natural. This story was totally believable. Made me think of the scripture which talks about 'entertaining strangers as they could be angels in disguise'. Totally changed the way in which I view God.
